“The blueprints. The closet had strange dimensions, likely to create a false wall.”Oh how Emily enjoys Gotham Weird paying off on their team. Of course Grayson has a sense for closet dimensions.

Would Wayne pay for Grayson’s safe return from his fount of wealth? Surely he didn’t expect his child to escape?Scrolling through decades old news reports instead of sleeping, Emily comes to a new conclusion. One that explains why Grayson speaks about the Gotham vigilantes with such familiarity. The police didn’t rescue him. Batman did.

“Dick,” she groans. “Just because you’re not fighting against alien invasions or digging people out of rubble doesn’t mean you’re not making a difference or being a hero. You get that right? What you do in the field is valiant enough, but everything you do with your time off? That’s heroic.”He squeezes the pillow tightly. “You think so?” he asks softly, oddly emotional.
“I know so,” she determines.
Her friend gets another confused scrunch in his brow. She’ll let him puzzle on his own for a while.

In the lockbox group chat, Cassandra rarely texts, but she seems committed to solely using emojis for Stephanie to translate. JJ thought it was some in-joke at first, but recently she’s been convinced that Cassandra simply doesn’t enjoy the written word as a form of communication. Modern day hieroglyphs suit her better instead.

Dick shifts slightly behind her, spreading his weight across the flats of his feet instead of collecting in the toes, ready to spring away. His mouth twitches into a smile, somewhere between challenging and teasing. “Did you request the BAU consult, Batman?”“Hn.”
And the familiarity twists in her gut.

the room, Tigress crosses her arms. “He’s good at that.”JJ nods in agreement. “It’s hard to distrust him. And he’s adaptable, makes it easy for others to open up.”
Tigress makes a low noise. “Sure,” she agrees. “But he’s better at making people want to be good.”
And JJ knows she really, really means that. She’s right, too. Fariza may not have truly known if the asylum she sought was for her daughter’s safety or the LoA’s advantage. But Dick… How he speaks, how he thinks about the world. It rubs off.
He joins them in the viewing room a moment later. “JJ?”
“Genuine,” she confirms.
He slumps in relief, then turns to the cape. “Who’s processing her, T?”
Tigress frowns. “I believe that’s the end of your involvement, agent,” she reminds tightly.
His grin smooths, uncomfortable. “Of course.” He agrees, looking in on Fariza’s somber face. “Of course.”

Dick: So what do you think Fariza’s deal is?
Cass: I am not discussing work with you
Dick: CowardJJ, to herself because she signed an NDA: Okay so are they friends? Enemies? How did they meet? When did they meet? Batman saved Dick when he was little but how does a ten year old impress a vigilante with their K&R training? Did they meet through Wayne? Wayne funds the Justice League right? Does he know who Batman is? Did Batman babysit Dick when he was little? Did Batman recommend Dick for his undercover mission?
