Summary
Thirteen-year-old Wade Wilson learns very quickly that being seen too clearly makes you valuable.
After his father’s death triggers a mutant ability that exposes what others overlook—cracks, flaws, weak points—Wade stops being treated like a grieving child. His mother calls it opportunity. The weapons lab comes first. The “retreat” for troubled teens comes after.
St. Francis is not designed to help broken kids heal. It watches them, measures them, and decides what they’re worth. Wade is only one of many children being evaluated, refined, and quietly shaped into something dangerous.
This is a story focused on institutional abuse, mutant experimentation, and the slow construction of identity. Humor exists, but it is not immediate or protective.
