Freedom is a fickle thing. Memories and evidence are mangled and contradictory, and so many people want him to be so many things he's not. It's all a tangled story of broken memories and lies and pain, but the truth must be there somewhere, it has to be.The Firebird is a precision weapon. He knows that much. A meticulous instrument of destruction. It never malfunctions. Never rebels. Never thinks.
Right?(Or: Where the Winter Soldier finds himself a free man, with no clue what to do about it. Meanwhile, his partner in arms clings to whatever sense of normalcy she can maintain. Recovery is a tough, bloody, and non-linear path, for everybody involved.)
