Summary
Shane's life was a sure thing. He was set for the draft, ready to start his career in the NHL. But his heart was telling him otherwise. With only a guitar and a notebook full of teenage angst, he quit the sport that had defined him to start a band. This summer, years later, the life he'd dreamed off is starting to materialise. He's on Warped Tour, and his bands first album on a major label is being released.
All of this would be enough, but to add to his sparkling summer, Shane's favourite band and their enigmatic lead singer is also on their debut run of the tour. Their singers piercing melodies and haunting lyrics had held Shane's fascination for months now. Not much is known about him (and Shane would know, he's searched all the message boards) and all the rumour mill has turned up is a last name; Rozanov.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov has been drafted by Boston, the number one pick overall, but his father doesn't want him moving to America and so takes steps to block his visa. He's going to have to go back to Russia and stay there forever and that, thinks Shane Hollander, is wrong.
It's so wrong that Shane can't stop himself from doing something about it. Even though that something is the most reckless, the only reckless thing he's ever done in his life. He marries Rozanov in secret, to keep him out of Russia and put him on a path to Canadian citizenship.
Shane's got a five-year plan to get him there and when you have a plan nothing can go wrong. Right? Right. When you have a solid plan and a marriage that's on paper only there's no risk of feelings getting involved. Not on Rozanov's part and certainly not on Shane's.
