Summary
The forest is alive with fear.
The insects hide in their burrows, silent and still. The crickets do not make a sound, and the ants, gathered in their dry, airy dens, tread lightly over leaves and branches and stones.
Trees lean with the wind, their long roots reaching down, as if holding on for what is to come. Their leaves whisper and shake as squirrels scamper through branches, up and down their wide, uneven trunks, screeching panicked messages through the trembling earth, the shivering sky.
Scattered by disaster, Alhaitham, Cyno, Kaveh, and Tighnari navigate their way through an abyssal Sumeru.

Okay, well, it is. It’s half the sound—a sort of horrid, choked squeak—and half Kaveh’s reaction to it, which is a startled yelp and a flinch so bad that Kaveh’s nose ends up crashing into his forehead.
“Ow?” Alhaitham steps back, rubbing his forehead, and he sees Kaveh whip around in the direction of the squeak. “What—”
“Turtle!”
Kaveh and Alhaitham adopt some turtles, with Tighnari’s help.

“No, thank you,” Todoroki interrupts without even looking up.

Todoroki’s eyes flicker to Izuku, just for a blink, setting his face further on fire. Then they settle on Mineta, ice and shadow growing bleak.
