Summary
He must have gotten up too fast because his head spins in that light way it does when blood pressure doesn’t keep up. The adrenaline hasn’t settled out yet because his hands are still shaking, in fact all of him is still shaking. Why hasn’t he caught his breath yet? He presses a hand against the pinch in his chest like that might help. And why does it feel like there’s a rod jammed low in his sternum–
“Oh, fuck,” she says, her gaze sweeping him up and down.
He glances down to see what’s upset her – maybe she’s just offended that his cologne rubbed off on her or afraid he’ll blame her for the minor road rash that stings all the way up his left arm–
“Oh –” the knot in his chest is actually a hole and it’s bleeding over his hand “– fuck.”

Summary
They say the first year of sobriety is the hardest.
“I’m not high.”
It takes her by surprise, as it does every time they talk about it in the open like this. She wonders if other people have assumed that about him, for the reply to be so close to the surface.
“I didn’t think you were.”

Summary
The mental soundtrack Langdon summoned during CPR had changed a few times over the years. In medical school, it was the classic Stayin’ Alive, until someone told him All Star by Smash Mouth was 104bpm. There was a brief stint where it was Dancing Through Life, because they saw it on Broadway for their anniversary, and Abby insisted he reminded her of Fiyero and kept singing it at him. But when Tanner was around two years old, it became Baby Shark, and hadn’t changed since. It was, actually, the perfect tool for CPR; thirty compressions slotted perfectly with each new shark, and the whole family lined up with five cycles per round before switching out.
Being in substance abuse recovery has more of an impact on heat stroke recovery than anyone, including Frank Langdon, would've expected. Or, Langdon runs a code in the ambulance bay, develops heat stroke, and seizes, the Ativan dilemma arrives immediately, and Robby has feelings.

Summary
“But- it is a big deal, that was-”
“It’s fine, really.” Langdon held his arms tighter, knuckled white where he gripped his sleeves.
Javadi frowned, “Are you sure?”
“I am.” Langdon looked around again, sighing and rubbing his brow, “Look, I appreciate the concern, but I really- I can’t risk causing anymore problems right now.”(PLEASE carefully read tags!!!)
