Most of the time, it's easiest for Geralt to ignore Jaskier's weird antics. He assumes it all just human stuff he doesn't need to understand. So, when Jaskier wonders if it's going to rain during the dragon hunt, Geralt doesn't think too much of the question. It takes a thunderstorm for him to realize something he should have seen a while ago.
AKA: Jaskier's afraid of thunderstorms but doesn't want to tell Geralt. Geralt finds out anyway.
