    Summary

"Wha-what are you?" The boy's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at the creature before him, his feet almost slipping from the jagged rocks making the winged-person approach and catch his arm before retreating in a distance. "Wait! Don't go! I-I do not mean harm" He held up his dusted hands.
"She probably doesn't understand me at all, stupid" The little prince scolded himself and shook his head, she held similar features to him silver-white hair and purple eyes that looked more amethyst in the dark, save for her draconic features that was evident so he tried something else hoping it will come across the other. "Nyke sagon dārilaros, skoros issa ao?"
The girl's pointed ears twitched at the familiar language, the boy noticed. "Ao üñd'erhzdhöódā nyke?" The girl with wings nodded and stared back at him assessing. "Nyke sagon zaldrīzes" She replied.

    Summary

    It has been…much time, Makto.

    “Yeah. I know.”

    You have children now.

    “Yeah, I do.”

You have lost children. A son, fed to the waves after dying for his brother.

Jake does his best to keep the tears from his eyes. Toruk, even after all these years, would certainly still gulp him down at the first sign of weakness. But God, he misses Neteyam more than he thought he could miss anyone, more than he thought was physically possible, and any thoughts of him make his vision blur.

I would have eaten him. An end befitting one so strong. I ate those offspring of mine that did not survive, as the ones who did will eat me when I have met my end.

“That’s…a little frowned upon, bud,” Jake manages, reaching up to pat Toruk’s leathery cheek. He’s bigger than Jake remembers, broader, bulkier, like maybe he was an adolescent when they met and has since become an adult. Even his mind, through tsaheylu, feels matured, more stable, calculating. “Only the Ash eat their own.”

At the mention of the Mangkwan, Toruk growls. He flares his wings, just a little, and Jake feels the anger surge through him as if it were his own.

    Summary

    I was angry with my friend;
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

House Targaryen is a family of many hatreds. And of many loves. None know it better than Aegon Targaryen, the last son of Baelon and Alyssa, the youngest brother of King Viserys.

And none will learn it better than his only child, Alyssa.

Or: sometimes a family is a Citadel dropout, a child bride, her sworn sword, and their five collective children (who are all married to each other)

    Summary

The smallfolk had a saying: ‘Royce brides meet a cold end when they take a dragonlord to wed.’

Alyssa believed House Royce was happily rid of Targaryens after Jeyne Arryn sent Rhea's overgrown cave worm of a husband skulking from the Eyrie, denying his claim to Runestone. In the years following her cousin's passing, Alyssa's troubles numbered few around the lovely old heap of stone called home...until a letter arrived.

The rest, as the maesters would one day write, is history.
