The stars must’ve been barely a centimetre above David’s head as they taunted him with their Los Angeles invisibility. David always hated light pollution. But now, with the moon somewhere out there and the million skyscrapers and apartment blocks and other buildings, it was kinda beautiful. A whole world right in front of David’s eyes. A Van Gogh painting just over the ledge.”

Even Ian had managed to pick up on her lack of aspirations, surely Dana would’ve. Rachel and Dana understood each other. They just clicked. Well, Dana did, for sure.”

Richard needed space to figure out how to talk to Jared again, how to let him know that Richard wasn’t some tech messiah anymore and that Jared needed to stop treating him like he was something special when he was just some guy now. Or maybe he’d go on this whole global adventure thing, and Eat Pray Love himself into being a better person, a better friend. Here's hoping.
