When she'd died, Luciana hadn't expected to become a bad cliché and be born again in a fictional universe... but here she was. Still, that didn't mean she had to get involved with stupidly dangerous things like pirates, military regimes, and revolutions. She was perfectly happy living a quiet and peaceful life on the island of her (re)birth, thank you very much!
She hadn't counted on getting so attached to Nico Robin though.
As it turned out, Luciana hadn't counted on a lot of things that ended up happening anyways. But even though she was blind, that didn't mean she couldn't see the ways she could best protect her nakama. (And she would protect them.) If the world stood in her way, she’d simply change the world. Her two most precious people had dreams that would carry them all the way to Laugh Tale. She refused to be anywhere but at their sides.

They all watched him fall— The funny, comic relief character. How ironic was that? The one who told jokes with a beaming smile now hid amongst pillows with sorrow.
They were probably laughing at him outside of the pillowfort, Jax decided with a scoff, squinting at the light coming out of the pillowfort. Somebody must’ve forgotten to cover the entrance.
Whatever.
Jax looked down, feeling the familiar yet odd glitchness of his animalistic limbs, his multiple eyes opening and closing— arrays of colour filling the corners of his vision, reminding him of the depiction of people being high.
It was rare to think, Jax had come to terms with that. The abstraction was like a mind of its own, commanding for blood and violence in an animalistic tone.
And all he could really do was wait for that opening, wait for the cage to creak open ever so slightly so he could feel human again, even if it was never noticeable by whoever was around him.---
OR: Pomni and the rest are persistent in constantly talking to Jax, unaware that he's listening in with complete consciousness, slowly regaining his sanity with each one sided conversation.Bookmarked by Zyroth

"The god tilts his head. “I apologize, I’ve been rude. I am Zagreus, prince of the Underworld, god of blood and rebirth.” He winks at him. “Sorry you had to see me come out of the Styx like that—I’m usually much more put together. And as for why I’m helping you…” Something in his bearing shifts, changes from the casual front he was putting on to something much more serious. “That’s your mother that Hades is holding, isn’t it?”
Percy flinches. “What do you know about my mom? Is she okay? She’s not…”
“She’s perfectly fine.” Zagreus says in an unexpectedly reassuring tone. “I promise. She’s not a shade, she’s just being held in stasis.”
Relief flows through him, but… “What does that have to do with why you’re helping us, though?” He’s reminded of the saying Annabeth told him after he received the pearls from Poseidon: never trust a free lunch.
Zagreus meets his eyes. “I know a thing or two about going on an impossible quest to find one’s mother, son of Poseidon.”
