Summary
The Uchiha Massacre takes place just before Team 7 is recommended for the Chunin exams.
Heavy Sasuke/Sakura and medium heavy Itachi/Shisui. Kabuto and Orochimaru are also... there. Romance but also a bunch of political conspiracy and murder because I'm the one writing it.
They become Genin around 16. Gonna get dark! and smutty eventually so they will be adults! Much more than that will spoil the plot, but we're going to Orochimaru's lab so the Uchiha and the Dove won't be the only things dead.

Opinions were divided on exactly when Namikaze Minato, the most exemplary shinobi of a generation, truly became Hokage. Most people without a sense of historical vision might say something like, "When the Sandaime said so." One possessed of a more big-picture worldview might say, "When he entered the Third Secret War and ground it to a halt on two fronts in one night."
But Kushina knew the answer. She knew him and everything about him, and Minato didn't want her to.
The village was never going to survive. From its foundation until now, Konoha has been subject to the corruption of its strongest. Namikaze Minato is just the latest symptom of Konoha’s long, protracted illness. Everyone knows he’s a perfect shinobi and most people like him just fine if they don't look too hard, but only those close enough to him from the very beginning truly understand that being perfect doesn’t make him good.
