Summary
Eddie is tired. His body feels heavy and burdened. It feels like he has been going on forever and not stopped once since.. well since he was just a little kid and his dad told him to man up. He thinks it’s finally weighing him down in such a way that he can no longer ignore it. Not that he hasn’t tried. He is Eddie after all. But now he just… well.. he just feels like he needs to be. Just be. Let go. Let go of all the expectations, should-be’s and I-need-to’s. Because for once, Eddie would like to just have a few want-to’s.
So he makes list. A list he decides the dots to this time around.
1: He wants to try that new bakery that opened downtown. Try their chocolate-pistachio-mazipan-cream puff - just because it sounds deadly delicious. To indulge.
2: Take a dance class. Because he misses it.
3: Try to paint. Because why not.
4: Ask Maddie to hang out. Wine. (Non alcoholic..).
5: Borrow Buck's juice maker and make juice.
6: Tell Chris.
7: Talk to father Brian. Tell the truth this time.
8: Tell Buck that he’s…The love of his life.Eddie looks at his list. It’s… manageable.. mostly. Save the scariest thing for last, build up to it.

Summary
TEMPORARY DEATH! I swear.
————————————————Eddie looks weirdly at the gun on the pavement in front of him. It didn't go off…. so why did he hear… He thinks he hears shouting and in almost slow motion he turns around and looks into Bucks eyes which are bursting with pain and quickly filling with tears. Eddie almost wonders if Buck got hit, but that's not possible. He was covered by the engine. And then….. and then he feels a warm liquid running down the front of his shirt.
He hears Athena shout something about Elise needing to let go of the gun.. Oh, Eddie thinks.. She must have had one too. That makes sense.
While staring at Bucks beautiful watery blue eyes he feels himself fall. It feels like an eternity. Like the earth opened up, and decided to swallow him whole, so he closes his eyes, not wanting to see the world disappear again.. again.. again...
Or...
Eddie says he would never leave Buck.
It turns out Eddie is a liar. -

Summary
Eddie's phone is buzzing. Very persistently on the nightstand next to him. He knows Buck did that thing where only certain people can go through, after calling enough times when it’s on “night mode” or whatever it’s called. Stupid tec. So it’s either Buck, Chris, his abuela or tía. So it’s probably Buck. Eddie groans and turns from where he’s lying sprawled on his stomach and glares at the clock lighting up next to his phone. 2:34. What the fuck Buck.
He sighs, closes his eyes again and blindly fumbles for the phone which is yet again buzzing like its life depended on it. Eddie takes the phone to his ear and mumbles “Buck, you better be dying, man”
“I don’t wanna be here” says the voice on the other end. And the words are followed by a mix between a hiccup and a sob.
Eddie is suddenly very very much awake and jumps up from the bed clutching the phone to his ear.
“Christopher?”

Summary
Robby pulls a face. “Remind me why I ever thought confiding in you was a good idea?”
Jack laughs. “You didn’t confide in me. I deduced it because I have eyes, and you didn’t deny it when I asked. I’m more curious why no one else seems to have picked up on your miserable yearning.”

Summary
“Tell you what,” Robby calls out as Dennis is passing by, he does a quick turn with his foot and finds himself leaning on the counter across from the attending. It wasn’t even a thought, Robby called, Dennis came.
“Yes, Dr. Robby?”
So much for avoiding. Pathetic.
“How about you and I make a bet?” He asks, glasses perched on his nose, his head tilted down as he levels Dennis with a stare from over the lenses.
“A bet? Want me to add it to the pool in Ahmad’s office?” Dennis didn’t know Robby to be the betting kind, he rarely added to the wagers the staff so often held. Of course, Dennis didn’t either, but for very different reasons. Currently there were about three different predictions being bet on and someone was going to have a very happy new year out of it.
Robby just offers a small smile and shakes his head. “Not this time. Just me and you.”
Just me and you.

Summary
Dennis really hates that his first thought is one of immediate discontentment at the notion that Robby is at all upset with him. The hatred soon turns to shame and embarrassment when he really realizes just how worked up he’s gotten himself these past few days. He feels it all at once: the anxiety for his future, the constant fear of making an irreversible mistake, the shame over this stupid schoolboy crush on his attending, and most of all, a smothering feeling of anger for himself. Anger that he can’t do everything at once, anger that he might be throwing away everything he’s worked for because he can’t find time to study for this stupid exam. And he’s even more angry when he feels his bottom lip begin to quiver and his eyes welling up with tears. Right in front of Dr. Robby.
Or: Dennis panics about an upcoming exam. Robby invites him to his home to study.

Summary
“Umm.” Dennis looks down, then abandons the idea of looking to shutting his eyes close. He shakes his head slowly hoping he can find the words, right or wrong it doesn't matter, he needs to find some first. His eyes look back at Robby. His worriness has overtaken his features entirely.
“You sure about this?”
His voice is low, almost a whisper and his big blue eyes are not letting go of Robby’s dark brown.
“Yeah, I told you, Whitaker. I trust you.”
“That’s not what I asked.”
OR:
Robby and Whitaker are outside the ED, in the ambulance bay talking about the details of the upcoming house-sitting.
Dennis gets a message, Amy's going to be late—twenty minutes.
Maybe this is his shot to change Robby's mind about his sabbatical and get answers about their relationship and their dynamic.Twenty minutes, that's all he has to save Robby and learn if their relationship was only mentorship or if his attending meant a lot more than teaching.
