Summary
After transmigrating into a fantasy webnovel with the best world-building but worst plot he had ever seen, Kim Dokja removed himself from the story as much as possible to open an apothecary as far away as the System would allow. He has no need to be a part of a trashy romance where the soon-to-be-King spends his time killing monsters, sleeping with enough people to make other harem love interests' jaws drop, or killing anyone who rejects him or looks at him funny. At least the A/B/O thing is a minor plotline..
So when the heroically injured protagonist turns up on his doorstep a little while before the main plot begins, Kim Dokja slams the door in Crown Prince Yoo Joonghyuk's face. (He resolves to do this every time the male lead comes back. Unfortunately, between him and the door, the door's breaking first.)

As young adults, they run into him in Gotham, of all places. It's a stroke of luck that brings their best friend back to them.
If only it was that easy for the Bats to find the god damn engineer that's been running circles around them while they try to track him down.
Tim's not sure what he'll do first when he finally finds the brilliant bastard - kiss him or punch his teeth in.

11/23/2025- Updating this fic after a long hiatus! Every chapter will be updated for flow, style, errors, and general readability. Some chapters will have changed content for story consistency. Some chapters in the 30s will be fully rewritten, or they will be reused for a more appropriate place in the timeline. Any chapters with updates will have an A/N listing the nature of the changes and the date!
Tavryn had a bleeding heart, something feral just beneath the surface, and allies aplenty. Perhaps protection from a vampire lord was a bit much to ask of a stranger, but surely a lover would have a vested interest. And the groundwork was already set.
All he needed was to get the man to fall for him. Easy enough.
Follows Astarion getting to know my Tav (Tavryn), throughout the events of the game (with some alterations). Learning how similar they are, that healing is harder than it looks, and finding themselves in the face of disaster.
