This story takes place after Ruins of the Empire (HQ) where Tenzin has a conversation with Pema about their relationship and the future.
Lin is comfortable in her current life, she's had relationships over the years that didn't work out, but romance isn't on the agenda for her today, right?Tenzin tells Lin about his situation with Pema and hope floods both of their hearts.

“Thank you, Lin, for everything and forgive me..” he said, already holding his glider in his hands and entering the personal space of the woman next to him.For a moment, his blue-gray eyes jumped from her jade eyes to her lips and back again. She could smell his scent more intensely, she felt his breath close to her, and he brought his hand to her scarred cheek, their gazes met again, causing her to start to lose control. He looked at her lips again and brushed his thumb across her lower lip, sending tremors through Lin's body.

Summary
When Hana is hired as the new RCPD lieutenant, in charge of training recruits and mentoring high-ranking officers, she never imagined that the most complicated mission would be dealing with her own feelings. A casual conversation at a bar leads to an unexpected day off and a dinner on Air Temple Island, where secrets come to light and Hana begins to realize that she feels something more than friendship for her boss.
Despite not being sure if her feelings are reciprocated, fate insists on bringing them together, and this becomes somewhat difficult not to happen when they both live in the same building. Between misunderstandings, moments of complicity and the pressure of their responsibilities at the RCPD, Hana and Lin try to navigate a relationship that begins as a simple friendship, but threatens to turn into something much more intense.
But nothing is simple on the path to the heart, and ghosts from both of their pasts appear to try to interfere. Unresolved ex-relationships and old ties begin to test the limits of both their trust and feelings, making it even harder to ignore how they really feel about each other.
