Summary
In the water, Rin opens his eyes: the sting and the salt and the interminable, empty blue. It threw him off balance, hearing himself talk like that. That much, that calm. When he lets Isagi in like that, he can’t stop his heart from reaching out for more, clumsy and stupid.
He swims for a long time, until his muscles ache in that good way that lets his brain fuzz out a little bit. When he gets out of the water, Isagi and the dog have left the beach.
Everything comes crashing down on Itoshi Rin. All it really takes is Isagi Yoichi, Greece, and a stray dog.

Summary
There are only two things promised in life: birth and death.
Shidou knows that—and yet, he cries over his dead cat. He teared up as the earth covered his grandma’s casket. He knew it was going to happen when he saw his grandma in the hospital. He knew his cat was going to die when the Veterinarian told him they were going to put her down.
Everyone and everything dies someday, Shidou knows that. Even he will die one day, even he will be buried.
But, for some things, it just doesn’t seem like they could ever die. Like the turtles that live for over a hundred years, the clams that live for 400 years, or Sae Itoshi.

Just like that night, he grabbed a razor blade. He took off his shirt and ran the blade across his arm. Three cuts were enough, and he already felt intense pain. And worse, it didn't bother him.
He didn’t bother to be gentle.
This time, he did it forcefully, without thinking.
Sometimes in moments like these, he feels nothing, but now he definitely feels too much. And he can't control it.
