He stares at her for a long moment, eyes darting back and forth between hers like he’s looking for something very specific. Katara isn’t sure if he finds it or not.
“Okay. If you—if you want.”
“How hard can it be?” Katara pulls one out of the stack. “Rina likes iced tea. That would never work.”
He grins as she crumples Rina’s application and tosses it into the corner. “You know me.”
“Exactly.” She does. “Honestly, you should have asked me from the start.”

Katara takes it upon herself to screen Zuko's suitors.

He slid his fingers from her wrists to intertwine with hers and pressed them harder to his chest so that she could feel the way his heart raced.
“I loved you then, and I love you now, and I think that terrifies you.”
“I’m—I’m not terrified,” she spluttered, even as she tried pulling her hands away from his chest, to escape.
He held firm. He wasn’t going to allow her to run from this conversation a second time.
“What is it that you’re so afraid of?”
Or, Katara attends her brother's wedding and is finally forced to confront old feelings for an old friend.

Summary
Aang didn't plan to hurt Katara—it just happened. She's already forgiven Zuko, she can forgive the Avatar too. Katara will protect Aang's innocence, even if she needs to hide her scars to do so.
Love is a battlefield, but that just means someone's bound to get hurt.
(It's alright, though—Zuko will help her heal.)
