AUTHOR'S NOTE
In my 13 years of life, I never imagined I’d create a book from my own imagination. I was never especially skilled or interested in writing or reading, mostly because few books ever caught my attention. But this year, something changed—I discovered a love for literature that led me to create this story.
It started as an independent reading assignment for my ELA class. Unsure what to pick, I turned to my mom, who introduced me to The Silent Patient—the first book that truly captivated me. With her encouragement and support from friends, I began writing my own story as a fun project during or after school. I didn’t expect how deeply I’d care about it. I planned, wrote summaries, studied pacing, and promised myself I’d finish.
This has been the most rewarding project I’ve ever done, and I hope anyone who reads it feels the same connection I do.
