Summary
When Nightingale asks Peter if he can take Toby and sleep in the coach house for the night, Peter doesn't find it especially weird. But when Toby starts barking in the middle of the night and won't stop, and then won't follow him back into the Folly to investigate, that's when he starts having suspicions. Because in this AU, Nightingale has another secret, and Peter is about to discover why it's unwise to go creeping around the Folly under the light of the full moon...

When Peter is consistently sick four mornings in a row he has to concede that maybe something might be wrong with him. And at Nightingale's insistence agrees to see Dr. Walid for a check up. What they don't expect is their not quite casual hookups/not quite fully dating trysts to result in making a baby.
While attempting to figure out the how, they juggle case work, impending parenthood, baby proofing the Folly, oh, and falling in love.

I’d like to say I didn’t answer immediately, but I think I did, with a sort of strangulated squeak. In my defence, it’s difficult to think of an adequate response to your boss having lost three decades off his age overnight, especially on the spur of the moment. I knew Nightingale had some sort of backwards ageing thing going on, but this was taking it to extremes.

Detective Constable Peter Grant of the Metropolitan Police in London, is part of a small and secretive unit which investigates magical and other supernatural criminal activity. He’s met all manner of unusual inhabitants of the city, from ghosts, fae, possibly goblins, to genii locorum, or minor deities who inhabit the rivers of London, one of whom he’s dating; Beverley Brook.
But there are plenty of members of the demi-monde, or supernatural underworld, who he hasn’t yet been introduced to, arrested, or stumbled upon by accident, and a rather unusual arrest in Mayfair is about to lead him to meeting a couple more.
When the peculiar suspect in Charing Cross nick’s custody suite manages to escape, the method used leads Grant to a dusty old bookshop in Soho with erratic opening hours…
