“Your days will be tormented by my presence, everything around you will burn whether you like it or not. You will feel so cursed, you will wish you would have died by my sword, bro.” Flamefrags stated, his eyes momentarily shining red through his blindfold.
Wemmbu continued to remain silent, and although they stayed in that position for minutes, the sharp sword did not falter, did not even shake or move out of place. It was truly impressive how Flamefrags stance was so grounded, yet that fact just made Wemmbu's chances of getting out of this alive even slimmer.
“Do you have any more of your comments, bro? Or are you just going to stay quiet now that I got you in a bad position?”
He should keep his mouth shut, Wemmbu knows it.
But when Flame phrases it like that, it is tempting to reply with another remark.
And Wemmbu is too impulsive to ignore temptation.

What could he do? Eggchan was gone. Wemmbu had never considered that possibility. That the one stable thing in his life could suddenly be… gone. Killed right before his eyes, dying in his arms. Feeling the way that sticky, concerningly warm blood wept from the cuts in Eggchan's slowly cooling body in the harsh, unforgiving dirt that Wemmbu stained his pants in.
His whole world shattered the moment those wings dropped. Like a rock being thrown through the most gorgeous stained glass window Wemmbu had been admiring all his life.

Wemmbu dreamed.
Technically, Endling Demons don't dream. They see visions. Wemmbu doesn't know what these visions meant, but he labeled it as false hope. He saw them as blurry future predictions; some, were mirrors of his deepest desires. He couldn't tell which is which, and yet, he hated it. He hated how these 'visions' made him feel vulnerable.
Usually, Wemmbu would ignore these visions with effort. And he would forget about them eventually with time. But, there was one vision that stuck to Wemmbu like a nagging parasite. A vision of everything he had asked for, yearned for; the results of his hard work and suffering welding the power of destruction finally paying off.

They had also ultimately decided that a new villain popping up wouldn’t be the best idea, especially with the Law’s recent crackdown on villainy. Instead, Wemmbu would follow in his best friend's shoes ad become a vigilante.
He didn’t know the first thing that they did besides the couple of tidbits Egg had drilled into his mind an hour before. He couldn’t kill, couldn’t injure too severely, had to focus on helping others, and so on; Wemmbu stopped paying attention after the third miniature lecture about his tendency to fight before thinking, basically summing the entire list up as ‘No fun allowed’. Honestly, he would just improv the whole schtick and hope it was convincing.
He took one last look in the mirror before heading out. He looked nothing like himself, nothing like Gambit.
It was perfect.

A final whisper of goodbye was said before Eggchan got shot right in front of him by a row of arrows. Despite his desperate attempts to save him, he failed terribly at it.
And soon, the isolation started. And so did the whispers full of hate, negativity, dishonesty, and corruption that his best friend created. And that really got to Wemmbu. He'll make sure no one would live a happier life, drag all of them down with his misery.

Summary
In Unstable City, there's a lot of things that exist. Hybrids of all kinds, from dogs, to demons, to blazes. It's not unique, that's for sure, as the cities surrounding it, like Lifesteal City or Strength City, have their own quirks, and their own different hybrids of creatures and humans.
One thing Unstable City has that other cities do not, however, is an angel. Angels were hunted and killed down until near extinction for their abilities, which were said that one could receive if they ate an angel's heart.
It had been centuries since anyone's seen an angel, so that myth was yet to be proven.
Eggchan is an angel.
He works at a coffee shop. He does all the shifts, every last one, since the other employees all either ran off to be heroes, or died in the crossfire of the battles. Doesn't matter to Egg though. As long as he gets paid.
Staying safe isn't too hard.
Until heroes, vigilantes and villains alike decide that the coffee shop Egg works at is a great place to get coffee.
