Summary
A decade has passed since the disappearance of Prince Arthas in Northrend. Now whispers of the dead rising from their graves, and attacking the living sweep across Lordaeron.
Terrified refugees flee in all directions, many seeking asylum in the northern kingdom of Quel’thalas.
Yet they find themselves turned away. King Anasterian Sunstrider does not believe the rumours. As such, Ranger-General Sylvanas Windrunner is under strict orders to turn away any humans at the border.
Soon, the flood of refugees becomes a trickle, and then nothing.
In Dalaran, the Kirin Tor struggle to maintain a collapsing portal system. They sense strange magic in the air, but are unable to pinpoint its cause.
Jaina Proudmoore is plagued by nightmares of Northrend, and the horrors she witnessed years ago. Wounds she received in the frozen wastes now ache as if fresh, and she cannot shake the sinister sensation that doom has come to the Eastern Kingdoms.
Clouds gather on the horizon, and a cold, unrelenting rain falls on kingdoms bordering Lordaeron. Ominous winds carrying a bitter chill wash over the Eastern Kingdoms, and a whisper of doom is spoken to the unawares people.

She didn't, however, plan to become so, utterly captivated by a particularly charming barmaid. A situation that can only lead to a dangerous world of indecision, desire and, naturally, pain.
