In Nottingham, there lives a perfectly respectable family.
Loki Odinson is an eccentric but beloved professor of cosmology at the University of Nottingham. His wife, Sylvie, works as a consultant. They have two children, Ellie and Flox. The neighbours have known them since 2012, when the professor arrived in Britain after an accident that left his memory a blank slate. Within months, he had taken the academic world by storm after introducing his theory of the Multiverse.
Nothing unusual at all.
Except that Professor Loki seems to know too much about the universe. His brother looks like a Norse god who wandered out of a saga. And his wife's colleague, Mobius, is such an ordinary man that it begins to feel suspicious.
If the neighbours knew the whole story...
After all, this family could not possibly have anything to do with the Loki of Asgard, who attacked New York in 2012.Loki has been granted a second life - a quiet, domestic existence in Nottingham. This time instead of letting the anger take control of him he could tell them what had happened, even if no one would believe Loki Liesmith, they would believe the Chittauri brand on his shoulder blade, the marks of their torture on his skin.
But Loki knew their sympathy would be short-lived, his reasons would sound like excuses for most of Asgard and a lot of the soldiers and the court would still be suspicious of him, their doubt would never be completely cleared, and his par- Odin and Mother wouldn’t understand how broken he is. And he wanted them to know. He wanted them to realise how much he had suffered and feel guilty for not noticing sooner. For Thor to feel guilty, for him to understand how much he caused Loki to suffer.
That required patience and some time spent in prison. Loki did not mind that, he was tired, and prison was comfortable enough, courtesy of his Mother.

When Loki is brought before Odin for his sentencing, he is rendered mortal, seemingly sentenced to carry out the same punishments as his brother. Except the All-Father hardly had fairness in mind when choosing the sentence, nor does Loki himself plan to play along with the old man's schemes lying down.
What everyone seemed to recently forget was that Loki was a trickster. They called him a cheat, a liar, a manipulator as a way to insult him, forgetting what being those things truly meant.
If he had to find a way to break the All-Father's bindings from himself and at the same time hide from SHIELD, the Avengers and Asgard itself, all the while pulling all of their strings from the shadows to position them and prepare against the Mad Titan's inevitable arrival, he shall do it at all costs, in style and in just the perfect way to stick to the old man.
He was Loki and it was high time he reminded everyone what exactly that meant. -
