Cadis Etrama di Raizel had been called many things. Muzaka called him “Raizel.” Frankenstein called him “Master.” The previous Lord had once called him “son.”
There were other names he had: Noblesse. Brother. Traitor.
In the end, Raizel never had a say. Who was he, anyway?
But… “Rai.” He recognizes this as— a nickname. To show affection for someone, sometimes you shorten their name. “Franken.” This sweet, intimate name that only Raizel is allowed to call him by. He has known Frankenstein for centuries, but these human children have just met him, and they have already bestowed a mark of affection upon him. Their admiration and friendship is free-flowing, easily offered, a divine gift that Raizel isn’t worthy of.
“You may call me as you wish.”

Resting in one of the Union’s run-down hideaways, surrounded by various boxes of junk and leaky pipes, somehow it was oddly peaceful to have the moment to themselves. It was rare that they got time like this while on a mission, even if they were currently lying in wait for their next target. With a thoughtful hum, M-24 began searching through one of the nearby boxes.
“W-What are you doing?” stammered M-21.
With a proud look, M-24 held up a pair of rusty, slightly bent scissors. “Here. I’ll cut your hair for you.”

Everyone was confused when M-21 announced that Frankenstein had called a family meeting. They all gathered nervously in the living room without so much as exchanging whispered speculation until Frankenstein and Raizel finally arrived.
“I’m sure some of you have noticed by now my and my Master’s absence every month…”
They had, although since it had only been two months for M-21 and one for the others, they hadn’t really put much thought into it. But as soon as Frankenstein pointed it out, it became obvious. Sir Raizel genuinely loved attending school and for him to not go had to be something serious, and the same for Frankenstein to neglect work.
“I’ve already told you about Master’s illness. But… I haven’t told you about his curse."
