So, I've realized that Pyro is easily one of the most shipped characters in the fandom. In fact, some Spyro fanart is part of what brought me here in the first place, and I’ve written my fair share since. But I've always felt that people tend to gloss over Pyro's utter madness and make him/her/them like a big kid. I recently stumbled upon an old collection of drabbles I wrote years ago, so I’m rescuing a few to explore those relationships—making them as toxic and unhinged as I think they’d realistically be with someone like Pyro.

Every few years, Hale organizes a tournament for the richest of the rich. But they aren't going to stain their fine hands. No, they are going to watch the worst of Mann Co. slaughter one another. The one left standing at the end of the day will be the winner. Aside from a massive financial payout, they will take home the sheer satisfaction of staying alive. More than enough motivation for the team to dissolve into a free-for-all and settle once and for all who the best class truly is(Reuploaded because I messed things up because I don't know how to edit on mobile and prefer to start over, sorry!)

Scott's previous plans to visit his brother Alex in Hawaii seemed like the perfect option. A small idea that turned into something more.
The discovery of respawn being offline was a horror in itself. After the first body failed to return to them everything had begun to fall apart. Scout was the first victim. He just laid there, slowly beginning to rot in the hot sun. Soon after, the medigun ran out of fluid. Everything fell apart after that. For 9 years they had all worked, lived and died together, over and over. Lives artificially bloated and extended, brought back over and over, keeping them forever stagnant no matter how old they got or how many limbs they lost. So reliable it had been that they had rapidly begun to throw caution to the wind. Why wait for a broken leg to heal or a headache to subside when respawn could just spit you out good as new in 10 seconds? It Didn’t matter. They always came back looking the same as the day they first arrived. It always worked. Until it didn’t. Until the robots arrived. They had forgotten how to fear death until this moment and order collapsed. They were gone.

Jeremy Willis was on his way to college. Jane Doe was returning from another one of his delusional "campaigns" against the Nazis. Mikhail "Misha" Rosvolov had just immigrated from Siberia in search of work. Tavish DeGroot had arrived in America hoping to build a better life. Dell Conagher was traveling to a Mann Co. science conference. Dr. Ludwig Humboldt had fled Germany in hopes of starting over after losing his medical license. Mick Mundy and Jacques Beaumont DeLacroix were simply passing through after separate mercenary contracts.
And somewhere in the forgotten maintenance corridors of the airport, a homeless soul known only as Pyro was trying to stay warm.
None of them knew one another. Then the infection began.
As panic consumed the airport, the nine strangers repeatedly crossed paths while fleeing the growing horde. What started as chance encounters soon became reluctant cooperation, then trust, and eventually something far stronger.
For five years, they crossed a ruined America, scavenging abandoned towns, defending one another, mourning those they lost, and slowly becoming experts at surviving the impossible.
