Since becoming an Animorph, there were many things that Jake had done for Marco, both in and out of battle, ranging from carrying his broken body out of battlfields and taking hits meant for him, to talking him through impulsive decisions that would probably get him killed and covering for him at school when he was busy being an osprey or a dolphin or a gorillia or something.
But despite all that, Jake couldn't stop him from walking in on his dad making out with his new girlfriend, and could do nothing about the immediate aftermath besides ride it out.

“...What?” He leaned forward, mouth dry, mind spinning, any idea of changing the channel and watching that movie (what genre was it again?) well out the window. “What — what — hold on.”
Nora’s hand was gripping the armrest tightly. She’d seen it too. “Peter…”
He was already rising to his feet.
“That’s Marco.”

Marco has met plenty of aliens during his time as an Animorph, like the noble Andalites, the evil Yeerks, and the peaceful androids known as the Chee. But late one night, Marco wakes up to find a new species has come to town. Was he only dreaming?
Given everything they've seen together, the other Animorphs and Ax want to believe Marco. But without evidence, they don't know where to start looking for this mysterious new invader, nor do they know how the Yeerk recruitment organization, The Sharing, may be involved in the cover-up.

Edriss was concerned. No, she was confused. In her entire life, through several hosts, she had never seen anything like her current predicament. The infestation had gone normally at first, lots of sobbing and screaming from the host before they quickly realized it was pointless. Of course, being only 6 earth days in, it made sense that the host was still resistant. But there was another problem. Usually the biggest struggle in infestation is ensuring nobody notices anything has changed about the host, often difficult around the host’s loved ones. In the past Edriss had witnessed understandable confusion, annoyance, despair and fear from those who noticed their loved ones were not who they once were. Over time they were convinced this was just a new side of the host, but it normally took hard work to clear all suspicions.
Never had she seen complete indifference.

i was originally thinking i would have it be from marco's pov and have him just be overhearing but as soon as i started writing i ended up going with peter's pov lol which i think is for the better to show the inner conflict
it's short but i am happy with it hope u like it! -
