He splits the plum open, plucks the pit from the center and sets it on the tabletop, then quarters the fruit. The flesh is a deep red, and soft. Feyd can see Paul's nails digging into it, how the juice—as dark and red as the flesh—runs down Paul's fingers. He brings a quarter to his mouth. There is a brief flash of his white teeth before the plum is consumed. His tongue, shockingly pink, runs across his lips to swipe at the juice that clings there.

The upper body of Feyd's sparring partner slumps to the safety of the mat, and Feyd unceremoniously drops the rest of him to the floor, legs deadweight. Feyd spits out a black mouthguard and says, mocking, "Good effort."
Someone hands him a towel. Feyd wicks the sweat from his face, his bare, glistening chest, and then he raises his head and his gaze finds Paul's.

Paul has hair everywhere—though he is not obscenely hairy like so many other Caladanin men. It is apparently a sore point that he cannot grow a beard; why he would ever want to is a mystery to Feyd. He enjoys the fine hairs on Paul's cheeks—peach fuzz, he thinks it's colloquially called—but it would be a shame not to be able to see the sharpness of his jaw, the angles of his face. The hair on his head is dark and curly and falls just above his shoulders, and once or twice Feyd has twirled a lock around his finger and watched Paul watch him with curiosity.

Paul stops him. "Here," he says, slipping a bracelet onto Feyd's wrist. "Alia made this for you."
Feyd looks at it—a chevron pattern of blue, green and gold. "She made this?"
A ghost of a smile graces Paul's lips. "Yes, and she was very insistent that I give it to you when I next saw you." His fingers slip underneath the bracelet to rest on Feyd's pulse. "And she wasn't sure what your favorite colors are, so she just picked the ones she likes best."
He doesn't have favorite colors, because he's not a kindergartner.

Still, he's fond of Paul's horse. It tipped the scales in his favor. The Atreides—a family with a long and storied name but, in recent years, diminishing wealth, due in part to the patriarch's recent health issues. They'd already cut a great deal of their expenses by the time Feyd proposed, and Paul had been considering outright selling the horse. Money was tight, and full board at a stable cost a couple thousand a month.
"I'll take care of that," Feyd told him. "I'll take care of everything."
He has. Leto's medical bills paid for, Paul's childhood home given some much needed repairs, the horse still living in the lap of luxury.
And in return, Paul is so very, very grateful.
