Summary
The plan was simple - fool Chen, break his staff, put him in prison and enjoy another day in Ninjago as its heros. Where things went wrong? Kai still tries to lodge the cause in his mind. Maybe it was the betrayal, or the kidnapping. Perhaps the lack of communication, or really just his villainous side coming to life. Among many things and people nothing was certain for more than few days. But he had to keep moving.
Or a rewrite of s4 that blooms into a what-if Kai abandonded ninjas and instead became a vigilante. (In my mind, it's a long-shot)

It’s no longer just the Source Dragons he has to worry about.
Far more things the Ninja were never aware of–an unseen order between gods, ancient creatures, and spirits. Each maintaining their role in the world in their own ‘unique’ way, some involved, others distant, often involved in petty disputes. A system that expects everyone–especially Lloyd–to know their place.

Or to discover how deeply herself and her people are tied to the balance of the Merged Lands.
