But the recordings show a barefoot girl declared dead at two and a half, raised by pirates under house rules that were love wearing procedure's clothes — a voice like six languages in a trench coat, one varren, three accidental AI daughters, and the grey-eyed other half who turned out to be the only born receiver of the frequency.
This is not the Shepard BioWare wrote. She saved the galaxy anyway — definitely. That part, the old summary hedged on.
Where the legend and the recordings disagree, this book sides with the recordings. -

4 years and a half had passed since the galaxy emerged victorious against the Reapers. Recovery process is still ongoing, with the trauma of the war still lingering on, physical, mental, and emotional.
Inspired by the unfinished diaries that her former mentor, Admiral David Anderson, left in his former Citadel Apartment prior to his demise, now retired Commander Katherine Shepard decides to do her own diary detailing her early life, her career, the defining three years of her life, and what has she been up to since the end of the Reaper War.
Although it might be for the fun of it or just out of boredom, Shepard is writing her diary to help find her own closure.
NOTICE: This fic is based on the ending headcanon from AHEM (Audemus Happy Ending Mod), so no Catalyst, no Mass Relays damaged/destroyed, and no Geth/EDI being destroyed either. Additionally, it's based on CEM (Citadel Epilogue Mod), so expect the events of Citadel DLC to play out a few years after the Reaper War.
I should also mention that EGM and LE1/LE3 DP mods factor into this story.

Unrequited love is so complicated when it isn't truly unrequited but neither person knows. You know what else is complicated? Dying and being brought back to life. Tara Shepard is navigating life after death on the Normandy SR-2 while -- once again -- trying to save the galaxy. At least she has Joker, right? But Jeff Moreau is also trying to navigate his life after Tara's death and it is much harder than he imagined it might be.
To the Stars is set during ME2 and will continue through ME3. Somewhat canon compliant, but will likely deviate more than not. There aren't any really heavy triggers in this, mostly just sad and angst and eventual happiness.
I have only played through these games twice; so bear with me as I explore these characters and continue to replay ME repeatedly.
