Summary
After encountering a possible future version of himself, Luke Skywalker has taken a leave from the New Republic, and his duties as a Jedi to find the planet Exegol.
Bothered by Luke's actions, Han Solo & Leia Organa plead with him to return to his duty. Luke has told them about their future, and that their future son could one day turn to the dark side.
On Exegol, Sheev Palpatine returns from a state of death, a mere shadow of what he once was. With a fleet of Star Destroyers capable of vaporizing planets at his command, he is safe, along with the company of the Sith Eternal. But he's unaware that Luke Skywalker knows he's alive...
This is a sequel to my short story Walkabout. And marks my attempt to undo the Sequel Trilogy. Borrowing elements from Disney and Legends for a better post ROTJ era. 6 chapters total, plus the epilogue.

Galen had let go. The exact moment that he chose not to kill the clone that showed Juno's face. And failed again when he didn't kill Vader where he knelt, defeated. Again.
So perhaps he wasn't a true Sith. He needed to learn what the Jedi were before saying he wasn't one of those entirely either. -

A few months after the end of the Vong War, Luke Skywalker is brought back in time to during the beginning of his journey. Even though the galaxy is ruled by the tyrannical Empire and the New Jedi Order haven't yet risen, he decides to do a typical unorthodox Skywalker move: go off to save his father earlier. Jedi Master Luke, Fusion of EU/DC.
This will not be an easy "Luke and/or Vader goes and kills the Emperor and claims the Empire" story. In my opinion, if Vader had survived Endor, or another successful attempt to destroy Sidious, then when he moved to keep the Empire intact, he would have encountered a lot of antagonism in the Core due to his deeds and reputation, along with a fair number of the military, from people who didn't want to be blamed for oversights and blunders. Regardless of whether he redeems his reputation and makes the right amount of deals, Vader taking over may still be seen as a power grab by at least a fraction of the Empire. That said, Vader is intelligent and has Luke helping him. Both are going to have a lot of work to do.
