Vincent Allison was the newest inmate at the E Block of Cold Mountain, and probably the youngest Paul had ever welcome into the place. Though, if you look at the crime, you can see why they had sent him to that block. The sheer weight of it was enough for a judge’s mind to drift to one of (if not the most) severe punishment the country could offer— Old Sparky.

Summary
Brutus and Dean carry a secret relationship while working together on the Mile. I wrote this after gaining a brief hyper fixation on the The Green Mile (I watched the movie everyday for about two weeks. Then forced my friends to watch it) It follows the events of the movie mostly with a couple of things we learn from the book.
Brief explanation of headcanon:
-Dean is in a Lavender Marriage with his wife in which he gives her kids and they have their own partners (She be lesbian)
- Paul is aware of the relationship to some extent but chooses not to say anything since it doesn't interfere with work.
- They are both gay -

I already saw the movie years ago but the book hit deeper. Stephen when I catch you.Anyway, here's a slice of life/missing moment between Percy's "incident" with John and John's execution. Dwelling on Paul and the psychological aspects of working at the mile.

Lemme talk while I’ve still got the nerve.” He swallowed hard as if to fortify himself for whatever was about to come tumbling out of his mouth. “You’re the most beautiful thing I ever laid eyes on, Y/N. And the damnable truth...is that I’ve been head over heels for you from the moment I met you. It couldn’t be helped. Believe me I tried. I’ve been trying for a long time. Trying not to think about it, trying not to think about you...”
My breath caught as my heart flung itself up into my throat. Something in my expression must have faltered his resolve, because he dropped his gaze to his folded hands before he continued.
“You remember that night at Paul’s back in May? You looked so goddamn beautiful standing in that sunset it damn near took my breath away. And then I brought you home and Christ...You got no idea, honey. No idea how bad I wanted to kiss you on the porch that night. I know it wad’nt right. You were another man’s wife.
