Summary
Stalag XIII is a strange place where secrets abound and nothing is quite as it seems- the prisoners are more than just prisoners, the Kommandant is far from the incompetent fool he's gotten everyone to believe he is, and the new arrival, Captain Wilhelm Schmidt, isn't Wilhelm at all, but rather Wilhelmina, a young, spirited German-born American pilot who disguised herself as a man to help liberate her homeland from the Nazis and quickly earned the nickname "the Baby-Faced Ace." Her favorite pastime in the camp is butting heads with Klink, unaware that they have far more in common than they realize: a deep hatred of the Nazi regime, a desire to return to the freedom of the skies, but most of all a profound love of music. Will these two emotionally unavailable idiots be able to overcome their differences and traumatic pasts to find love? More importantly, will they be able to work together to avoid Wilhelmina falling into the clutches of Burkhalter or Hochstetter?

Julius Deutsch has had one hell of a year.
First of all, a grenade exploded in a secure command post and Deutsch decided that he was going to pull a John Wayne and save everyone and himself. It didn't work. He lost his job, nearly lost his life, and found himself hobbling in the unemployment line with people who don't exactly like him. He needs a job. So when he found a certain American POW sitting in a place he really wasn't supposed to be, he's more than willing to work a little deal. Under the table, of course. Deutsch isn't stupid and the man who tried to kill him is still out there.
Being the commandant of a prison camp is quite the downgrade from leading the charge in a glorious war, but it's a paycheck and probably won't get Deutsch killed.
He hopes.
