It’s got dark squiggles and blots of black paint on it, courtesy of Squiddo in remembrance of the haunted houses they go to every year. There’s a box of tissues, a few fidget toys from the dollar store, and a pack of candy, all refilled when he goes to pick up groceries. He tosses his laptop in it too, just in case.
The reason why he has such a thing is… unfortunate. He loves the bag, but every time he looks at it, his chest tightens as do his fists. He really should change bags before he stops associating the thing with Squiddo, and instead, Derapchu’s failed relationships.
Or, a story about focusing on fixing the present instead of worrying about the future, featuring a scarily-nonchalant insecure Harvard student and a highschool dropout in his off-brand blue pikachu hoodie.

Derapchu looks around. “Is the power off?” There isn’t the slightest hint of music or dance for almost thirty whole seconds. He almost turns around to ask for help, but Parrot is far too bubbly to be scared.
Then, there’s a sudden click of lights on the stage, stunning all the first-timers including him. There’s a person, standing there in a green and gold bodysuit on a part of a massive flute replica. He balances on one of the knobs, her foot unquavering while he plays a song on her own regular-sized instrument.
Once her song has come to a slow, gradual ending, he does a flip off it and waves the instrument like a baton. Derapchu sees a shuffling behind the black curtains, squinting to try to get more. “Dearly beloved guests, welcome to the Debunk Circus! I am the Chartreuse Cat, and here is my friend, Rosette!”

It’s nearing the end High-school and everyone is waiting expectantly for the senior trip to be announced, but instead of Hawaii, The Bahamas, Cancun, or The Dominican Republic; like every other school, they chose a camping trip. Apparently it was the cheapest and easiest option for everyone, which is very unlikely. Derapchu and his friends are disappointed and also VERY mad, firstly because it wasn’t a very fun idea to go hiking in 90 degree weather, and secondly they couldn’t even choose who was in their cabin! Total BS. Derapchu hopes that fate is on his side any nothing goes incredibly wrong.

Derapchu is in a bad mood.
It's obvious to everyone — especially his friends — so they all give him a wide berth. And that does not help in the slightest.
The reason isn't dramatic or overemotional. He has to get tutoring. He doesn't even mind that part — he needs all the help he can get with calculus. The problem is that his tutor is Wifies. Wifies, who is annoying. Wifies, who has the audacity to claim that HE'S Parrot's best friend. Not Derapchu. Him.
Clearly, the universe hates him.
