Buffy swallowed hard. “I’m with Angel. I don’t get to… feel anything about you. Or Faith. Or you and Faith.”
Spike’s expression softened—not smug, not gloating, just… understanding in a way that made it worse. “Buffy, it’s not a crime to feel something. Even if you don’t want to.”
“No.” Buffy’s voice cracked despite her best effort. “It kinda is, actually.”
“Faith flirts with anything that breathes,” he said. “And a few things that don’t. You know that.”
Buffy stared at the ground. “Didn’t look like you minded.”
Spike let out a short laugh. “She’s not my type.”
“Oh?” Buffy muttered. “That’s not your type? Girls who pick fights? Girls who flaunt everything? Girls who—who—”
Spike cut her off softly. “Girls who aren’t afraid to feel what they feel.”
Buffy winced. “Not fair.”
He shrugged. “Didn’t say it to be fair.”
