He’d forgotten how uncomfortably large his eyes looked in a face this small, cheeks too thin. His hair was slipping out of the adult-sized hairpiece, now completely failing in its task on a much smaller head, and pooling around his shoulders.

    Ming Fan slammed the tray down on the low table and marched over, his look of fury blanching as he got a good look at the malnourished child in the mirror.

    “You- Shizun-”

    Shen Qingqiu’s eyes widened further.

    “-Shizun has a child?”
