Description:

Gotham broke them into headlines.
Dressed them in masks.
Named them after birds, ghosts, monsters, miracles.
Turned children into warnings, weapons, witnesses, legacies.

The manor learned slowly.

A boy could leave and still be loved.
A girl could be dangerous and still be believed.
A son could arrive carrying blood like a claim and still be more than what made him.
A man could be asked to stay and learn that belonging was not ownership.
A father could hold the line and still learn that love was not the same thing as control.

Gotham called them vigilantes.
The papers called them something different every day.
Their enemies called them leverage.

The manor took longer to find the word family.

Longer still to choose it openly.

Notes:

Hello, friend.

The main story of this series begins on April 16, 2024 and ends on April 16, 2032.

I have written enough in advance before posting the first chapter that I will likely be able to upload three times a week.

Because this series takes trauma seriously and explores heavy topics surrounding both psychological and physical trauma, I advise anyone sensitive to potential triggers to read the tags with care.

With all that said, I hope you enjoy reading my work, and I hope you have a wonderful day. :-)
