“Let’s see,” Galinda says as she thinks on where to start. It has to be something smaller. There is no need to change Elphaba completely. Now that they are friends, Galinda can admit that she is quite pretty. Thinking hard, she tugs on her earlobe as a force of habit, which reminds her of the object placed behind her ear. The flower Fiyero gave her, the one that has been annoyingly stabbing at her head, how could she have forgotten? It is perfect.
“Maybe just this,” Galinda removes the flower from her hair and leans over Elphie who is looking up at her with interest (reverence). She places the pink flower behind Elphaba’s ear, the way Fiyero placed it behind hers. She smiles at the pink complimenting the green of the other girl’s skin, “Pink goes good with green.”

Summary
There are many highlights of being in a relationship with Elphaba Thropp. She is sweet and caring and gives Galinda all of her attention. Galinda gets to fall asleep in the security of her arms with her heartbeat drumming in her ears and she gets to see her wake up in the early light of the morning. In those moments Galinda gets to appreciate all the details of her. The way freckles cover her cheeks like constellations. The way she scrunches her nose before she wakes up. The way the gap in her teeth shows when Galinda makes her laugh. But during those early mornings as Galinda is held in her arms, she finds what she appreciates most is the feeling of safety. And she has to admit that feeling is reinforced by the strength in those arms.

Summary
Elphie moves her hand away and replaces it with her own. Her touch is feather light. Nothing like Galinda’s own hand or her dream of how Elphie might touch her. Her touch on the strap is experimental as Elphie’s eyes focus on her face to see every minute change. Galinda tries to huff with annoyance, but instead it comes out like a choked moan. “You actually did it,” Elphie adds in wonder, before reassuring her, “I always believed you could do magic, but the form it has taken is most surprising.”
Having had enough of her teasing and needing to establish some type of control again, Galinda reaches out and grabs Elphie’s wrist, “Stop teasing me, Elphie.”

Summary
Thinking about Elphie getting pleasure from her movements while she is not even there feels intoxicating. Galinda desires that type of control. The fact that Elphie is so willing to trust her with this might be the most exhilarating part. She barely focuses on the class at all instead imagining how her girlfriend is feeling. This goes on throughout her next classes. Sometimes she turns the dial up, sometimes she turns it down completely. The intervals are random and there is no rhyme or reason to the intensity Galinda decides to set the vibrator to. She bites the inside of her cheek to keep the words in for another clocktick. In the end she relents and lets the words flow off of her tongue like water, “I have a girlfriend. Her name is Elphaba. My parents disapproved.” With her admission set free in the world, Galinda feels lighter and yet at the same time heavier as a sinking feeling in her gut seems to drag her down. Galinda looks at her granny and awaits her judgment.
Her granny’s brows furrow in indignation. In the depths of brown eyes that look so much like Galinda’s own, she can see a simmering rage. For a moment Galinda fears her next words. But then her granny gathers her rage and stuffs it back down. She reaches out a wrinkled hand and takes a hold of one of Galinda’s. The words that follow are not what she expects, “Is she kind?”
