DA2: Rogue Marian Hawke fled Fereldan with her mother and sister Bethany. Bethany contracted the Blight in the Deep Roads and went through the joining to become a Grey Warden. Marian tried to deal with the growing tension in Kirkwall while navigating a on and off again relationship with Anders. When Anders destroyed the Chantry, Hawke supported the Mages. After fleeing Kirkwall, she parted ways with Anders, unable to forgiving him for lying to her.

DAI: Inquisitor Zillah Lavellan gained the aid of the Mages as allies to seal the Breach. When faced with the decision to leave Hawke or Warden Alistair in the Fade, Hawke convinced her to escape with the Warden. She fell in love with the elven Apostate Solas and swore she would save him from himself when he revealed himself at the end of Trespasser. She disbanded the Inquisition, feeling there were too many risks to keep the organization running openly.
