After living a stifling life running the family packaging factory, Stede Bonnet left his wife and kids to open a self-care product shop. Since this wasn't the 1700s, his wife served him with divorce papers and got half the family business. He wasn't sure why she wanted it given neither of them were particularly into pre-fab packaging. She moved off to Bridge City and he moved into a nice little craftsman house behind a strip mall. That he owned. Both of the house and the mall. Look, he was loaded. He inherited loads of money, land in the town of Bonnetville, plus a family history of dying of heart attacks before age 60. All Stede wanted was to live a little before he died.
