But fake or not, his anxiety didn't care. His palms are already slick with sweat and his heart is trying to beat out of his chest.

There had been times Alec had called Magnus pet names, but all of those were while he was almost on the verge of passing out or otherwise incapacitated. Another small issue with that assortment of nicknames: none of them were in English.
