Summary
Follow-up to Dear Spock and Dear James. The five year mission is a go. Jim is trying to figure out how to be Spock’s first officer and husband while dealing with the lasting consequences of nearly dying. Spock tries to figure out how to give Jim what he needs while balancing his responsibilities as captain. Sulu is trying to figure out how to be a good dad to Demora and partner to Ben light years from both. Leonard and Nyota are trying to figure out how to raise a preteen in space with enough baggage to fill the ship. No one knows quite what they're doing. However, they are the best crew in Starfleet, which essentially means they’ll just make it up as they go. A collection of letters, emails and other written correspondence from the first year of Enterprise’s five-year mission.

Summary
Suspended from Starfleet Academy, life hanging precariously in the balance after his clandestine attempt at the Kobayashi Maru, Jim Kirk hates himself, the world, and primarily Spock: the mysterious instructor who caught him cheating. Not to be defeated, Jim hatches a brilliant, idiotic plan to get on Spock's good side in hopes to set things right. But Jim’s plan goes awry as he realizes quite abruptly that Spock is less of a stranger than he thought.

In the earliest days of Enterprise's five-year mission, Jim Kirk feels obligated to make his first winter holiday season as captain an occasion of friendship-building and reverie. Christmas party closing in, one important person hasn't RSVP'd. . .
Despite warnings from long-serving crew members and the man himself, Kirk's not taking no for an answer. Come floods, fires, or madness, the captain has come to a decision: if Spock refuses to emerge from his shell and act like he might deign to coexist with all the new faces aboard the Enterprise, there is no recourse but to transfer the science officer to another ship.
Will the command staff of the Federation's flagship emerge from these festivities in one piece or is this association doomed from the start?
Home for the Holidays is a stand-alone story set in the Celluloid Vokaya universe and is a companion piece to The Mair-rigolauya.
