Kynna thought it would be just another mission.

What starts as a routine infiltration with Natasha Romanoff quickly spirals when Kynna is captured by HYDRA and subjected to something far worse than she expected. Torture, interrogation, and a device designed to break her from the inside out—yet she still manages to complete the mission.
Because of course she does.
But getting out is only the beginning.
Back at the compound, something isn’t right. Her body starts to fail her—dizziness, nausea, weakness—and no one can figure out why. Not until it’s almost too late.

Mac took Murdoc’s hand. It was large and warm, the skin rough on his palm. Calluses and tiny scars littered his hand, warn in place from his chosen trade. Mac’s heart thumped suddenly and he swallowed. He wasn’t sure why he was anxious about doing this. He’d set plenty of bones before, many of them worse injuries than this one. (But, then, none of them had been on Murdoc.)
