Hoping he'd tell him Bob was just fucking with him.
Instead, he asked, "What's your last name, Lance?"
"Oh, wow, that's..."
"Please, answer," Shiro almost begged, and there was something in his tone that took away any desire to joke.
"It's easy, my name is Lance..."
He stopped. Why couldn't he say it? He tried again, but it was as if there was a void after Lance.
Shiro was looking at him pityingly now. "It's Grace. Your last name... and your first name, your real name, is..."
"No," he almost begged, but it was as if Shiro wasn't even listening, "Jason. And everything Bob said was true."

Lance is a paladin. Lance is just a normal boy from Cuba. Even when things went wrong, even when the team no longer trusted him, at least Lance knew who he was. But an encounter with a vengeful alien god turns his life upside down and forces him to realize he's not who he thought he was.

Please, I've lost everything; at least let me have this, were the words he couldn't say, because never, not once, had he truly thought he'd see a day when Bruce would no longer be there.
Superman growled, angry, a bit amused, "This is funny. Now you are his son? Really?”
He felt his blood boil in his veins, "I am! I'm his first Robin, the one who started it all! In the eyes of the law, I became his son years later, but I..."
"You never wanted to be his son."

An almost unreal silence fell in the room. Priest Epinice seemed almost as forbidden as they were, and the idea of drugging a paladin had been his.
The priest stammered, "Ah, I don't think... That's not what I asked!"
"Oh, this is getting funny," Pidge muttered, a maniacal twinkle in his eyes.
"Pidge, this isn't funny," Shiro hissed at her, but the green paladin retorted, "Keith without filters finally spilling the beans and ending our suffering? Of course it is!"
Before Shiro could scold her, Keith continued, " Lance is an ass, but a sexy ass. I just stare at him during training, and yes, he's one of the worst fighters; probably only Hunk is poorer, but I don't mind being paired with him during training, so I have an excuse to pin him to the ground and see how he reacts."
"Dear Lord, no..." Shiro exhaled; Pidge laughed like crazy.
(Where, even with a truth potion involved, Keith and Lance still can't really understand each other.)

The young man stared at him, shocked.
"You... don't you remember me?" he asked, finding it simply inconceivable.
And Lance, in other circumstances, would have been amused by that reaction, but there was a little girl he had to bring back to her mother; he hadn't slept for almost twenty-seven hours and needed a break.
"No, dude, now if you want to excuse me..."
The boy turned Lance to him, their faces a short distance away, purple eyes fixed on his, and Lance's treacherous heart skipped a beat.
"Blue Spirit, I'm Red Warrior. Do you really not remember me?"
At that point, Lance began to break out in a cold sweat. Of course, he couldn't remember him. Lance wasn't the real one.
(In which, due to a stupid stunt, the seventeen-year-old Lance dies and finds himself in the body of a villain of his best friend's favourite graphic novel, trying not to attract too much attention. Too bad for Lance, Keith doesn't make things easy for him at all.)

Both were pointing their bayards at them.
Rex's eyes widened, staring at the yellow paladin without being able to utter a word.
"Oh, are you fucking kidding me? This is worse than death," Pidge snapped, quickly regretting it when she felt a twinge in her temple.

After a mysterious energy explosion near the Omega Shield, the paladins find themselves with unexpected guests in the castle from another time that need their help getting back home. Things would be easier if they didn't act like they had too much to hide.

Summary
Harry Potter was done.
All he had ever wanted was a little less time at the Dursleys and a little more in the wizarding world.
Technically, he got his wish after the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. But he had been picturing something along the lines of a quiet holiday in Italy, not a stint in Azkaban.
One year later, Harry is released, only to discover that Italy is still very much not on the table and, somehow, he’s being sent straight back to Privet Drive.

Dick glared at him, as if to say, "Do you think this is the time to joke?" when Damian said, "He has to. Hate me, I mean. He hates Father, after all."
(After a mission gone wrong with the Titans, Dick go to the Manor to fight with Bruce. Unfortunately, Damian is also there.)

Anyone else would have tried to prove otherwise, perhaps leaving themselves in declarations of love that would have made Shakespeare cry or something like that. Lance didn't want the Bard to be bothered, but a declaration of love like in the movies he saw as a child would have been great.
Too bad Keith approached it all like a damn fight, and retorted, "You know what, I'm going to start dating him even harder."
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
Keith stood up, with difficulty, alone, his nose a little crooked and all red," You know what it means."
(Lance has a boyfriend, now. Veronica doesn't like said boyfriend. Not at all!)

"I'm hallucinating now," Damian muttered to himself, as the boy stared at him, uncertainly, "Mhm, pretty sure I'm not a hallucination."
"That's what a hallucination would say, Richard," he said, knowing he sounded petulant. Whatever the Galra had given him to keep him quiet, it was stronger than many of the drugs he had become accustomed to during his training with the League of Assassins.
It was only for this reason that he risked falling forward. Fortunately for him, he was promptly grabbed by the boy. It was a strong, solid grip, and definitely not a hallucination.
Damian looked up, meeting eyes that reminded him of a dead man, and the other said, "You confused me with another person. My name is not Richard. It's Lance."
(During his imprisonment on an alien ship, after sacrificing himself to save Earth, Damian meets a boy who reminds him terribly of his dead brother. He can't be who he believes, but the resemblance is striking, and Damian just wants to believe that something left by Dick Grayson still exists.)

So, here's the thing. The Fire Nation royal family descended from dragons.
Not in the sense that one of them had scaly tendencies a few million years ago, but in the sense that a dragon saw humans, decided it liked them, and took on the appearance of a human, only to be stuck in that form as punishment from the spirits.
The dragon didn't take it too badly, as he married a princess, had children, and his firstborn rose to power and became Fire Lord.
Zuko, however, had some very good complains to do.
