Notes:

Hi!
It's already day 3!
Honestly, this has been one of the most difficult one shots, I ran out of ideas :')
I don't know if it's good, but I hope you enjoy it ^^

(Also, shout-out to my mom, she gave me some ideas haha, which I ended up not using lol)
(As I said before, English is not my first language! So sorry in advance for any possible mistakes!)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

He was the Sun—strong, warm, bright, and radiant.

She was the Moon—calm, silent, refreshing, and yet radiant, thanks to the light the Sun bestowed upon her every night.

The sky would not allow them to dwell there at the same time. They were fated to chase after one another forever. At dawn, the Moon sought the Sun, and at dusk, the Sun sought the Moon. On rare occasions, their paths would cross, creating a phenomenon known as an eclipse. This happened to be one of those moments.

The solar eclipse plunged the planet into darkness, leaving only an orangish ring around the black sphere high in the firmament. The Moon and the Sun were closer than ever before.

After such a long time, this was their chance to see each other, and they would cherish it for as long as fate granted them.

Noelle could feel the immense warmth that her Sun, Asta, gave her.

And Asta was able to feel the cool breeze emanating from his Moon, Noelle.

"How many years have past since the last time?" the Sun whispered.

"I don't know. .. But I've missed you," the Moon murmured, reaching for the Sun's hand.

Their fingers brushed against each other for a few moments before finally intertwining. The eclipse neared its peak.

They didn't say anything for a couple of minutes, enjoying each other's company. Enjoying the closeness they were blessed with.

As the eclipse reached its zenith, their bodies slowly drew closer, drawn simply by each other's presence.

They were always striving to be together, yearning for their reunion. Even though they had to wait patiently for the sky to bring them together, if only for a little while, that moment left them satisfied for only a brief time.

They were always striving to be together, yearning for their reunion. Even though they had to wait patiently for the sky to bring them together, if only for a little while, that moment left them satisfied for only a brief time.

Regardless of what happened during this sort of rendezvous, they would continue to search for each other at the beginning and end of each day.

Finally, the silence was broken, not by words, but by sounds so soft that they could only be heard in complete silence. The gentle brushing of their lips against each other. The soft caress of their eyelashes against each other’s faces. The straining of the fabric of their clothes as they melted into a passionate embrace.

The eclipse had hit its pinnacle.

Although it wouldn't last long.

They held each other for a few more moments. Their lips fit together perfectly as they moved in sync, thirstily seeking the affection they desired.

Nonetheless, they had to part ways. It wasn't because they wanted to—if it were up to them, they would have remained together forever.

Unfortunately, the eclipse was coming to an end. This meant that they had to start heading away, as well.

They gradually pulled away from each other, breaking their embrace.

"When will I be able to see you again?" the Sun quietly asked. His voice was so faint that he could barely hear his own words.

"I don't... I don't know. But it doesn't matter. I'll always wait for you." the Moon said, cupping the Sun's face in her hands.

"Me too. I'll always be waiting for you," he said, raising his hand to rest on hers.

Inevitably, they were drifting farther and farther apart, letting go of each other's hands.

“Goodbye, Noelle”

“Goodbye, Asta”

The celestial bodies drifted apart and continued on their respective orbits.

The eclipse was over.

See you tomorrow!
Was it good?
