Summary
After helping Gibbs find peace in Alaska, Alden Parker reluctantly accepts a trial position as NCIS team lead. The team, grieving Gibbs's Marine Corps discipline and emotional distance, resists Parker's relaxed, open leadership style. During their first case, Parker proves his worth through sacrifice but remains detached, planning to leave. The team has a wake-up moment among themselves in the morgue, realizing Parker has shown them exactly who he is-a selfless, caring leader-while they haven't shown him who they are.
