Summary
Ponyboy Curtis's life was turned upside-down eight months ago when his parents died and left the farmstead to his oldest brother. Life is a struggle every day as he navigates life with his brothers, the other farmhands, and the way life looks now on their dreary Oklahoma farm.
Everything changes when a cyclone blows through, sweeping Ponyboy and his dog, Yeller, up into the fantastical world of Oz, where he is instructed to meet the Wizard in the Gold City for a way to take him back home.
He meets several familiar characters along the way with their own hopes and dreams. Maybe the Wizard has the means to help all of them.
