“Percy.” Sally said, as Percy walked out of his room.
“Yes mom?” Percy said, as he stood right next to Sally.
“Some new people moved into the apartment next door, the Graces I believe, and they threw a house warming party, and we got an invite.” Sally said, as Percy was already not liking the idea of a new neighbor that’ll complain about him 24/7.
“And we're not telling Gabe right?” Percy said, because at least if they are going alone they won't have to deal with Gabe for a few hours.
“Yes we aren't telling Gabe, and it's in a few hours so get ready for it.” Sally said, as in the Grace apartment they were getting ready for their house warming party.
“Thalia!” Beryl Grace said as Thalia and Jason were cleaning the house for the House warming.
“Yes Mom?” Thalia said, as she ran up to her mother.
“Remeber to not embarrass us on our first day here!” Beryl said, as the hours passed and the Grace apartment was ready for the party in 10 minutes.
“Alright Percy lets go.” Sally said, as her and Percy walked next door to the Grace Apartment.
“Hello Mrs. Jackson.” Baryel said as Sally and Percy walked in the door.
“Oh please call me Sally.” Sally said as her and Beryl walked towards the living room, and Percy ran into Thalia and Jason.
“Oh Hell." Percy said, as Jason walked behind his sister.
“Hello,” Thalia said, as Jason walked next to his sister, “What is your name?”
“Im Percy, what's yours?” Percy said.
“Im Thalia, and this is my Brother Jason.” Thalia said, as she looked to her brother, and then back towards Percy.
“Looks like they are getting along.” Sally said to Beryl as they sat on Grace's couch as Her and Percy had been the only ones to come.
“Yeah, they seem to be friends already.” Beryl said, as the House Warming party continued, and still no one else showed up.
“So, what school do you plan to send them to?” Sally said looking towards Thalia and Jason who were trading light banter with Percy.
“I don't know yet, what school is Percy in?” Beryl said, as she grabbed a bottle of water and sat back down.
“Percy’s going to be in Yancy next year, its a decent school, but kind of expesive.” Sally said, as a loud bang was heard from the kitchen where Thalia, Percy, and Jason had walked towards.
“Uh, THALIA!” Beryl yelled as the 3 kids walked back into the room, looking like they had done something funny and bad at the same time.
“Well I guess both of our kids do stupid things.” Beryl whispered to Sally, who gave a knowing sigh.
“What did you 3 do?” Sally said, playing essentially the good cop in the situation.
“We didn't do anything, it fell on its own.” Thalia said, making up a somewhat good story on the spot with Percy and Jason immediately backing it up by nodding.
“The plate fell off the table while we were walking by, we had no control over it falling.” Percy said, an explanation that sounded so reasonable, but also like the perfect excuse.
“So, you three were walking by and the plate just so happened to fall, meanwhile a chair is pushed against the cabinets?” Beryl said with a lot more skepticism.
“We did that afterwards, that was the scrapping you heard, and Percy stood on it to push all the other plates towards the wall so they wouldn't fall.” Thalia said, as both Beryl and Sally started to believe it more and more, until they decided to believe them.
“Alright, well anyway it's about night Percy, we should go back, but thank you for letting us over Beryl.” Sally said, as she started walking towards the door, and Percy, Thalia, and Jason finished their conversation.
“Anytime Sally.” Beryl said with a smile as Sally and Percy walked back to their apartment.
“Where have you 2 been?” Gabe said as Sally opened the door into the apartment.
“The neighbors' apartment, someone new moved in the Graces.” Sally said, as she walked by him with Percy.
“Im surprised anyone moved into that apartment with him next door.” Gabe said gesturing to Percy.
“HEY, I am friends with Thalia and Jason is cool.” Percy said back.
“Who are Thalia and Jason?” Gabe said thinking Percy made up 2 people on the spot.
“Their Beryls kids, our new neighbors!” Sally said, as Gabe went back over to his chair and turned on the Knicks game.
“Alright Percy, it's 9 go get some sleep and maybe you can play with Thalia and Jason tomorrow.” Sally said, as Percy practically ran towards his room waiting for the next day, because Thalia and Jason so far, are the only 2 kids that dont think he is weird. Then over the night, and into the morning Percy, Thalia, and Jason figured out the walls were thin enough to talk between.
“Percy,” Sally yelled, “Breakfast is ready!” As Percy ran and quickly ate, as in the Grace Apartment the same was happening as Thalia and Jason also quickly ate, and Thalia and Percy literally collided in the hallway.
“So where were you guys before you moved here?” Percy said, as he, Thalia, and Jason walked through the halls of the apartment building.
“California.” Thalia said, as they made it towards the door, and then Sally showed up near the door.
“Hello.” Sally said, as Thalia, Percy, and Jason jumped backwards.
“Hi mom.” Percy said.
“Hi Mrs. Jackson” Thalia and Jason said.
“Where are you going?” Sally said.
“We were just walking around, and not going outside.” Thalia said.
“Ok, just make sure you dont go outside, and dont go back to the apartments because Gabe is even more pissed than normal.” Sally said, as Thalia, Percy, and Jason nodded, as Sally walked out to her job.
“Who’s Gabe?” Thalia said.
“Percy’s stepdad.” Sally said, as she finally closed the door to her job.
“Ok, so keep away from the apartments, and don't go outside, but this place is massive, and has like 40 floors.” Percy said, as Thalia, Percy, and Jason took the elevator and started going around the apartment building, and exploring everything in it, and the broken soda vending machine.
“What do you want, Thalia?” Percy asked, as he got himself a Sprite, by smacking the machine.
“I’ll take a coke.” Thalia said, as Percy smacked the machine again, and a coke came out, and Percy handed her the drink.
“I’ll take a diet coke.” Jason said, as Percy hit the machine again and a diet coke popped out, and Percy handed Jason the drink.
“I’m surprised that whoever owns this is still refilling it.” Thalia said, drinking her coke.
“I know right, I mean he can't be making money off this, because there has to be more people then the 3 of us that know that hitting the machine gives you a soda for free right?” Percy said while in between sips of his sprite.
“I mean if it's not empty it's probably well known right?” Thalia said.
“Fair, you guys wanta ding dong ditch Gabe?” Percy said, as Thalia nodded, threw away her soda, and her, Percy, and Jason walked towards Percy’s apartment.
“Ok here it goes.” Percy said, as him and Thalia knocked on the door, and then bolted around the corner, and onto the stairwell
“Yes?!” Gabe said as he opened the door to see no one there, and then went back to his chair and continued to watch the knicks game.
“Again?” Percy said with a smile.
“Yes!” Thalia said with a smile, as the 2 went to do it again, as Jason got a 3rd soda, and both knocked on the door harder this time, and ran to the stairwell, as Gabe threw the door open.
“OK! Who is doing this!” Gabe yelled, just as Thalia and Percy got into the stairwell, and then Gabe slammed the door again, as Percy and Thalia were now laughing and decided to go get another soda each.
“Gabes face was priceless!” Percy said, still laughing, as he and Thalia got a sprite and a coke respectively.
“Aboustly priceless, and one hundred percent worth the effort!” Thalia said laughing, and getting a soda.
“Jason you would’ve seen his face, Gabe was livid, and it was perfect.” Percy said as he gulped down his soda and got a 3rd soda, with Thalia matching.
“If Gabe ever finds out what Thalia did, he's going to kill us both.” Percy said, still laughing.
“And I think if my mom finds out about this she also might kill us.” Thalia said laughing, after her 3rd soda.
“So we never tell anyone about this, we do what we did with the plate yesterday, and make up a story.” Percy said, as both he and Thalia started corroborating a story on the spot.
“So, we were up here talking the entire time, but what were we talking about, maybe you and Jason's time in California, and what happens in the rest of NYC?” Percy said, as Thalia quickly agreed, as Sally walked by them not hearing their previous conversation.
“Oh, hi Mrs. Jackson.” Jason said smiling, as Percy and Thalia quickly changed the conversation.
“Oh, hi mom.” Percy said.
“Hi Mrs. Jackson.” Thalia said.
