When I first watched and read natsuyuu, I thought the platonic and familial relationships in the story were perfectly written. Not every story needs to have a romance, and that vibe is exactly what makes natsuyuu special to me.
I’ll admit that this story is slightly self-indulgent, but since I'm a clinically unemployed loser, I still wondered what would happen if Natsume did have a love interest. It wasn’t something I wanted to take lightly because after all that he’s been through, romance is most likely the last thing on his mind. I put a lot of thought and care into crafting a romantic dynamic that would suit his character, so I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
A person’s personality is defined by their childhood experiences, family dynamics and the influences of others. To keep the story realistic, some parts of Natsume’s personality may diverge from canon because of Feifei’s influence, especially during his childhood. I will try to keep Natsume as authentic as possible, but keep in mind how meeting Feifei as a child will affect him growing up.
The title of the story is taken from both Natsume and Feifei’s last names, 'Natsu'me and 'Hoshi'no, literally meaning “Summer Star”. To be honest, there’s no specific meaning behind this name besides the fact that I think it sounds cute.

Feifei's appearance is not referenced often, but I'll still include a description for imagination's sake. I plan on drawing a character sheet for her soon, but forgive me for being lazy for now </3
Feifei has long, waist-length black hair that is often tied back into low pigtails. She has fluffy bangs and 2 side pieces that reach her shoulders. She has golden eyes with white 4-point stars as her pupils, which gradually turn black whenever she experiences strong emotions. She is 164cm tall (although she often jokes that it's actually 174 due to her halo).
