Episode 19:

Festival For Legends Part 4

Theme Song

"Power Rangers! Power Rangers!"

A book opens up the scene, displaying 5 rangers ready, rushing in to fight the forces of evil, each of them wearing their colorful suits and helmets.

"Gather around and hear the tale of heroes from beyond the veil."

The page turns to show Jaune training in the plains and then shows Whitley looking over some logs.

"Gather around and listen well; there's a new power in town."

The page turns to Ren, who was sipping tea while Nora moved around energetically. Sun was sitting in the shade, watching time go by.

"Powered by legends left untold."

Shows each of them receives a different colored leaf. Clare stands firm before the group, ready to guide them as Leanbow sits in front of a house in view of a giant tree. As well as Pyrrha looking conflicted and uncertain.

"To save what's Remnant, make the story grow."

They watch as Vale is attacked by the Grimm, Nighlock, and the White Fang. Each of them would pull out their morphers, prepared to fight.

"Power Rangers, Legends Go; nothing's set in stone."

Shows the Rangers morphing onto the battlefield. Each of them has different poses and weapons as they fight the Grimm in the forests. Some of them are riding flying vehicles blasting lasers at the Nighlock.

"Power Rangers, Legends Go, fight the grimm future set before"

Jaune clashes swords with Adam, as Ren and Nora fight White Fang members. Whitley and Sun do combat with Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald.

"The river of fear will not flow, Power Rangers. Legends go."

Salem, Octoroo, and another figure commanding the army of Grimm and Nighlock. Darkness seeps through the sky, and grim rivers flow.

"It's time to go rewrite the story; go rewrite the story. Rewrite the story!"

The Zords appear in the city fighting against the forces of evil. A large red warrior with antlers, wielding a sword, emerges and stands tall as a giant. A weasel swims through the docks' waters, an ape beats its chest loudly, a Pegasus soars through the sky, and a dragon breathes the wind as it lands on the ground.

"Rewrite the story! Rewrite the story!"

The zords would combine to form the megazord with wings spread. Now standing majestically before the evil forces with its sword raised in the air. There are then flashes of another unknown megazord in view. It ends with the Rangers posing before a broken moonlit night as the book closes, revealing the title.

The fairgrounds had turned into a nightmare. Carnival lights flickered as families and students fled in a panicked crush, Moogers slashing through the crowds and Grimm rampaging unchecked. Atlesian Knight-200s fired in formation, their glowing rifles barking at the monsters, but the creatures just kept coming. A vendor, shaking with fear, ducked behind his booth as a pack of snarling Ursai thundered by, crushing benches and scattering food carts. Above, Nevermores wheeled and dove, one lifting a screaming Roy Stallion in its talons.

Blake and Weiss stood frozen for a moment at the edge of the chaos, horror etched on both their faces as they watched a Creep dissolve into black smoke at their feet. The city's promise of safety was gone in an instant, replaced by a primordial terror that cut through the noise.

Weiss's voice trembled, almost a whisper. "I don't believe this…"

Blake, shaking herself from her daze, pulled out her Scroll and hit the call button. "Yang, are you okay?"

Cut to Yang, sprinting down the dorm hallway, Zwei bounding beside her, the sounds of alarms and distant screams echoing through the stone. She glanced at her Scroll and answered breathlessly, "I'm fine. Is Ruby with you? She's not answering her Scroll."

Blake's heart pounded faster. "No, she isn't," she replied. Yang halted, her worry plain. "But I'm sure she's fine. She's our leader. She can take care of herself."

Yang squeezed her eyes shut, fist clenched, fighting back the panic. "Right," she murmured, pushing forward with renewed urgency, Zwei trailing at her heels.

Back at the fairgrounds, Weiss watched in disbelief as Atlas soldiers and Knight-200s tried to stem the tide. She shook her head. "This can't be happening." Her gaze flickered, haunted, to where Penny had last stood whole. "Penny…"

Yang's voice crackled through Blake's Scroll, tense and urgent. "I'm headed to the docks near the courtyard. The White Fang are releasing Grimm and Moogers into the school!"

Blake's eyes widened. "The White Fang is here!?" In the background, the guttural growls of Grimm echoed, and Blake's worry deepened. "Yang!"

Static and crashes came through the line. "Ugh! Gotta go! Be careful!" The call cut out abruptly.

Weiss turned to Blake, fear clear in her eyes. "Blake, what are we going to do?"

Blake's expression hardened with resolve as she slid her Scroll away. "We're going to the docks, and we're doing our job."

She summoned her rocket locker, which thundered from the sky and landed behind her with a hiss of steam and a heavy thunk. The case opened to reveal Gambol Shroud, gleaming and ready for battle. Blake slung the weapon over her shoulder, sharing a look with Weiss, who nodded in agreement.

Together, they took off through the crumbling fairground, running against the tide of fleeing civilians, ready to fight back the darkness descending on Vale.

Colosseum

The Amity Colosseum was in total chaos. The Nevermore battered the shimmering barrier overhead, its shrieks shaking the stands as warning klaxons drowned out the last notes of the tournament theme. Above the crowd, the warning announcer blared, "Warning: Safety Barriers Failing." The force field flickered under the Grimm's relentless assault as panicked civilians stampeded for the exits.

Down on the arena floor, Ruby remained kneeling among the debris, her head bowed, paralyzed by shock and grief. Penny, battered but still fighting despite her severed arm, stood nearby. The remains of her mechanical limb sparked against the sand, but her gaze never wavered from the threat.

Up in the stands, Jaune's eyes widened with alarm. "PYRRHA!" he yelled, voice cutting through the noise. "Pyrrha, that thing's going to break in! You've gotta move!"

Nora gripped the railing, eyes wide with worry as she watched the force field shimmer under the Nevermore's impact. "Come on, Pyrrha, get up!"

When the barrier finally shattered, the Nevermore crashed onto the arena floor, sending a shockwave that knocked Jaune, Pyrrha, and Penny backward. The monstrous bird reared up and lunged, its beak aimed for Pyrrha.

Suddenly, a twirling blur of petals and red light cut through the chaos—Ruby, gripping one of Penny's swords, stabbed it deep into the Nevermore's wing. She landed in front of Pyrrha, eyes burning with determination.

Pyrrha, barely able to rise, looked up, voice trembling. "Ruby?"

Ruby glared at the Grimm, her anger giving her strength. "Leave her alone!"

Penny, her systems recalibrating, raised her remaining sword and fired a string of lasers at the Nevermore, scoring its chest and sending it staggering back. She advanced, one-handed, her movements precise despite her injury. The Nevermore shrieked as Penny finished it off with a final, powerful strike.

Pyrrha sank to her knees as Ruby knelt beside her. Tears filled Pyrrha's eyes as she clutched a piece of Penny's torn cloth. "Ruby, I… I'm so sorry."

Ruby shook her head, her own eyes shining with grief and fury. "Me too. But it wasn't your fault."

Penny knelt, her voice gentle and unwavering. "I forgive you, friend Pyrrha. I believe this is called 'giving someone a hand.' But more importantly, we have bigger priorities."

Jaune, dropping into the arena picking up Miló and Akoúo̱, ready, nodded. "She's right. Whoever was on that microphone—probably Cinder's team—they're the real enemy. We have to make sure they don't hurt anyone else."

Suddenly, rocket lockers began to crash down around them, opening to reveal students from all over the Academy, summoned by the emergency. Pyrrha rose, taking her weapons back from Jaune, sharing a look of solidarity. Ruby smiled at the gathering force, her spirits lifting for a moment as she saw the student body ready to fight.

Their resolve was cut short by a new threat. A griffon—a Grimm with lion's body and an eagle's wings—landed atop the Colosseum, eyes burning red. More Griffons swooped down, circling the arena.

Ren, eyes widening, called out, "Griffons!"

Neptune, gripping his trident, asked, "Anyone got a plan of attack?"

Ruby, thinking quickly, turned to Sun. "Sun! I need your Scroll!" Sun used his tail to flick the device to her. Ruby caught it and used it to summon her rocket locker, Crescent Rose locked inside. As the locker landed, a Griffon crashed down atop it, roaring in her face.

A gunshot rang out—Port, with Blowhard in hand, stood ready beside Oobleck, who wielded Antiquity's Roast in its club form. "Students! I think it would be best for you to leave!" Port called out, voice booming.

Ruby started to protest, "But we did a—"

Oobleck cut her off. "Miss Rose! This day will surely go down in Remnant's history. I'd prefer it if my students could live to tell about it."

Ruby nodded, twirling Crescent Rose into scythe form. "Let's go!"

The students made a break for it, Ruby pausing only as Velvet snapped a photo with her camera. She barely had time to look before Coco called her back. "Velvet!"

With the students clear, Port and Oobleck stood back-to-back as the Griffons circled, weapons at the ready, grins on their faces.

Port's laughter echoed through the arena. "One final match, Barty! Place your bets!"

As the last students escaped the carnage for the safety of the city, the Colosseum became a battleground not just for spectacle, but for survival—and for hope.

Civilians poured into the docking bays of the Colosseum in a desperate tide, panic etched on every face. Atlas Soldiers did their best to keep order, directing men, women, and children onto waiting Air Buses with urgent but steady voices. The thunder of fleeing feet echoed through the vast space. In one corner, a young student crumpled in tears, her friend's arms wrapped tight around her shoulders as comfort was offered amid the chaos.

Overhead, the sharp roar of Bullhead engines split the air. White Fang dropships hovered and swung low, their hatches opening to unleash fresh nightmares: Beowolves, Ursai, and even stranger Grimm leapt onto the tarmac, driving the crowd back. Two Atlesian Knights, flanking General Ironwood, raised their rifles and cut down a massive Ursa with precision fire.

But the brief sense of safety shattered as a hulking, armored Beowolf—twice the size of its kin and wielding a crude, scavenged Mooger sword—burst from the shadows. It tore the Knights apart in seconds, sparks and metal flying. The beast's red eyes locked on Ironwood.

Ironwood didn't hesitate. With a roar, he tore his pistol from his coat and charged. The Beowolf lunged, its claws slashing. Ironwood ducked and slid under the swipe, firing two shots into its torso as he skidded past. Sliding to a stop, he pivoted, using one hand on the slick ground to anchor himself, and fired three more rounds as the beast wheeled to face him.

The Beowolf swiped again with its left claw. Ironwood caught the blow with his gloved right hand and, with a grunt of effort, squeezed until the monster howled. He fired at the ground beneath its feet, detonating an explosion that launched them both into the air. Still gripping its arm, Ironwood swung the Beowolf overhead and slammed it back down, then pressed his revolver to its skull and fired. Black blood splattered, and the beast dissolved into smoke.

Ironwood watched the last traces vanish, chest heaving. He holstered his weapon and strode forward as students—Ruby, Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren, Nora, Sun, Whitley, and others—streamed out of the arena, gathering in front of the General.

Ruby's voice trembled, but she stood tall. "What's going on!?"

Ironwood wiped blood from his cheek. "Grimm are crawling all over the city. The White Fang's invaded Beacon, and to make matters worse, some... vagabond has seized one of my ships. Until we regain command, the skies are out of our control." He cut himself off as a Creep lunged at the group from behind. Without turning, he pulled his pistol and shot it, then holstered the weapon. "So I'm... going to take it back."

He turned toward his ship, but Jaune called out, "What should we do?"

Ironwood faced the group, his eyes hard. "You have two choices. Defend your Kingdom and your school... or save yourselves. No one will fault you if you leave." With that, he leapt onto the dropship ramp and barked to the remaining Atlas forces, "Let's move out!"

As Ironwood departed, a murmur ran through the students. Sun, never one to back down, broke the silence. "I mean... come on! Like we're going to run?"

Whitley stepped forward, voice urgent. "Sun, Ren, Nora, Jaune—hold on. I need an escort back to Schnee Tower. If communications fail, my company headquarters still has backup systems. We need to make sure it's operational. We can use my personal ship."

The others nodded, recognizing the importance. As the remaining students loaded onto the Bullhead, the five slipped away. Out of sight, they leapt from the floating edge of the Colosseum, morphers flashing as they transformed midair into their Ranger forms, each landing on their gleaming Legend Striders with practiced ease.

Nora revved her Strider's engines, lasers ready. "So what's the plan, Fearless Leader?"

But even as Jaune considered, the scene below revealed deeper trouble. Atlesian Knights, once fighting alongside Huntsmen, were now turning on them—hacked or corrupted, their eyes glowing an unnatural red. they see the airship begin to fall and a familiar red cloak flying on a locker onto the rogue ship. Worse still, the ground beneath the battle lines began to crack. Through those glowing fissures, Moogers began to pour out, joining the Grimm and spreading the chaos.

Nora leaned in, concern in her voice, "What are we going to do, Jaune?"

Jaune took a steadying breath, surveying the city under siege. "Whitley, you and Ren—focus on getting to the ship and restoring control of the Knights. Sun, you're with me on the ground. Nora, take to the air, cover us with your Strider's lasers and bring the thunder."

He gripped his morpher, eyes blazing with resolve. "We've got a city to save. Let's rewrite the story, Rangers!"

"Right." They nodded as one, engines roaring, before speeding off in separate directions—each of them a streak of color and hope, racing to defend Vale from the darkness overtaking it.

Skies

Nora stood tall on her Legend Strider, the vibrant colors of her suit gleaming under the chaotic sky. The air crackled with energy as she revved the engines, her heart pounding with exhilaration. Below her, the battlefield was a swirling tempest of Grimm—Nevermore and Griffons swooping down, their shrieks piercing the air like a battle cry.

Nora unleashed a barrage of lasers from her Strider's mounted cannons, each shot bursting forth with blinding light. The lasers cut through the air, striking true as they tore into the wings of a Griffon and taking out other flying grimm in her path, sending it spiraling down in a plume of feathers and smoke. "Take that, bird brain!" she shouted, laughter bubbling up as she watched the creature crash.

But the fight was far from over. A massive Nevermore, its wings casting a shadow over the battlefield, swooped in, its beak poised to strike. Nora's eyes narrowed, determination igniting within her. "Time to show you what real thunder looks like!"

With a powerful thrust, she propelled her Strider into the sky, soaring higher and higher until she was eye-to-eye with the monstrous bird. The world below faded into a blur as she reached for her Thunder Slammer, the weapon crackling with raw energy.

"Let's do this!" she roared, channeling all her strength into a single, mighty swing. The Thunder Slammer connected with the Nevermore's chest, the impact resonating like a thunderclap. The creature exploded into a cloud of dark feathers and dust, disintegrating before her very eyes.

Nora landed gracefully back on her Strider, the ground shaking beneath her as she revved the engines once more. "Who's next?" she taunted, her spirit unyielding.

Airship

On the bridge of the commandeered Atlesian airship, Roman Torchwick lounged in the captain's chair, smirking as the chaos of Vale flickered across the control monitors. Neo pirouetted nearby, the two of them enjoying their stolen moment of high ground—until a sudden, heavy crash reverberated through the ship's hull.

Roman groaned, tossing an officer's cap aside. "Ugh… Neo, go see what that is, would ya?"

Without a word, Neo nodded and glided out of the control room, her parasol flicking open with a snap.

Down on the main deck, the storm had arrived. Ruby was already there, fighting against malfunctioning Atlesian Knights and dodging the swooping Griffons outside. Suddenly, streaks of blue energy cut through the chaos—Whitley, in full Blue Ranger form, arrived on his Legend Strider, expertly taking down a pair of rogue Knights with precision shots from his Tide Sprayer.

He skidded to a stop near Ruby and offered her a hand. "Need a lift?"

She grinned, leaping onto the Strider behind him. Above, a hole burst open in the side of the ship as Green Ranger—Ren—used his cyclone bow to blast a path straight onto the deck, scattering metal debris and killing the Nighlock in the bay in an instant.

Neo landed silently, eyes narrowing as she sized up her foes. She spun her parasol defensively, as Roman hurried to her side, revolver in hand and nerves fraying.

Ren called out, "You're not running this show any longer, Torchwick!"

Neo darted in, her movements a blur as she traded blows with Ruby and Ren. She parried a scythe swipe, dodged a cyclone arrow, and nearly clipped Whitley with a spinning umbrella—her illusions flickering as she struggled to keep up. But this time, the Rangers pressed her relentlessly. Ruby's Crescent Rose clashed with Neo's parasol; Ren's cyclone bow forced her toward the ship's shattered railing.

Meanwhile, Whitley maneuvered through the firefight, ducking under a stray shot from Roman as he made for the ship's controls. He plugged into the system, working quickly. Neo, realizing she and Roman were losing ground, snapped her parasol closed and gestured to the window. Roman, already backing away, groaned, "Yeah, I really don't like where this is headed. Time for a new score!" With a last, annoyed glare, he let Neo grab him and, with a deft swing, she smashed the glass. Together, they leapt through the window in a rain of shimmering shards, disappearing into the night as Roman shouted, "Later, losers!"

The deck fell silent save for the hum of the Striders and the city's distant alarms. Whitley, at the controls, finished his hack. The ship's systems rebooted—the Atlesian Knights' red hostile lights flickered, then glowed blue. All across Vale, the Knights turned and resumed their proper programming, fighting alongside Huntsmen and Huntresses to drive back the Grimm.

Ruby watched, eyes wide with relief. "You did it, Blue! The Knights are back!"

Whitley managed a small node, then gestured to the city below. "Let's make it count!"

Beacon

Back at Beacon, the campus was a warzone. The hacked Atlesian Knights, once a symbol of security, had turned rogue and unleashed a relentless barrage on students, faculty, Grimm, and White Fang alike. The air was thick with smoke and the staccato crackle of gunfire. Just as the Knights began to pivot their targeting to the White Fang, a Paladin—recently recaptured by Atlas techs—stomped onto the scene. Its cannons roared to life, hammering the White Fang foot soldiers and any Grimm that dared approach, while a squad of human Atlas soldiers rallied behind it, using the Paladin's bulk as cover while they sprinted to drag survivors and trapped civilians to safety.

"Weiss, come on!" Blake shouted as she yanked Weiss behind a fallen statue, both girls ducking under a hail of stray bullets. Weiss nodded, gathering herself as the two prepared to assist the Atlas troops. But suddenly, the scream of engines overhead drew their gaze skyward—a Bullhead, spiraling down, trailing black smoke and flame.

The aircraft crashed into the quad in a shower of debris. Just before impact, something massive leapt free. An armored Beowolf, bristling with scavenged plating and fury, landed hard on the pavement with a thunderous thud. It wasted no time, immediately sprinting after a cluster of fleeing students and faculty.

The Knights—now fighting for the defenders again, but slow to react after being purged of the hack—struggled to corral the beast and protect the civilians. In the chaos, Weiss and Blake exchanged a look—one of fierce determination and unspoken trust.

"Be safe," Weiss said, her voice trembling but resolute.

Blake nodded in return, a steely glint in her eyes. With a last shared glance, they split up—Weiss dashing toward the evacuation routes, Blake veering off toward the dining hall.

Racing to the building, Blake's senses were on high alert. The Beowolf, now clinging to the shattered brick above, snarled down at the terrified students below. Blake's instincts screamed at her to act, but before she could, a bone-chilling scream echoed from inside the burning dining hall.

Clenching her fist, Blake forced herself forward, darting through the shattered doors. Inside, the heat and smoke were suffocating. Through the haze, she saw a tall, masked figure toss an Atlas soldier aside—like a ragdoll—against the far wall. The flames cast a monstrous shadow, but the outline was unmistakable.

Blake froze, terror and anger warring in her chest. "No… Adam?"

Adam Taurus turned, his mask glinting in the firelight, his crimson blade slick with blood. He smiled—a cold, dangerous smile—as he locked eyes with her. "Hello, my darling."

All across Beacon Academy, the battle raged in chaotic bursts—students and Huntsmen clashing with Grimm, Moogers, and White Fang in every courtyard and corridor. The hacked Atlesian Knights, once a source of fear, now fought alongside their human allies, though their movements were still stiff and their programming struggled to adapt to the unpredictable Moogers. The metallic clang of swords, the thunder of gunfire, and the cries of combatants echoed between the ancient stone walls.

The camera swept beneath a crumbling archway, weaving through the melee of students and monsters, then panned up the side of a battered building. At the rooftop edge, the chaotic sounds faded into a tense quiet, revealing Cinder Fall, Emerald Sustrai, and Mercury Black observing the battlefield far below. Mercury's Scroll was raised, filming every second for their master plan.

Cinder's eyes were sharp and unblinking as she watched the carnage. "Beautiful," she whispered, a twisted reverence in her tone.

Emerald, unable to hide her growing unease, shook her head. "It's almost sad," she murmured, her voice tinged with regret.

Cinder's lips curled into a cold sneer. "It's horrendous. Focus on the Atlesian Knights. Wait…" Her expression shifted to annoyance. "They aren't fighting against the Huntsmen or Atlas anymore. They've turned. Then… focus on the Moogers."

Mercury nodded, zooming in on the battlefield where the Moogers—undeterred by the Knights—pressed the attack, overwhelming squads of defenders with sheer numbers.

"Yes, boss," Mercury replied, never removing his gaze from the screen.

"Good," Cinder said, her voice as cold as glass. "Continue the broadcast until the end. I want the world to see everything."

Suddenly, a powerful tremor shuddered through the rooftop, rattling loose stones and making even Cinder's composure falter for a moment.

Cinder's smile returned, more dangerous than ever. "And do not miss what happens next," she said quietly, her voice layered with dark promise. "Not even the Rangers can stop it."

Down on the battered grounds of Beacon, Sun and Jaune fought back to back, holding the line against the chaos of Grimm, White Fang, and Moogers. Sun's staff slammed into the earth, and with each strike, seismic ripples burst outwards—uprooting Moogers, toppling Grimm, and sending White Fang soldiers flying. His power over the ground itself made every stomp and swing a force of nature, carving defensive trenches and raising protective barriers for fleeing civilians.

Jaune, meanwhile, had found high ground atop a crumbling rooftop. Flame Divider blazing, he shouted down, "Everyone, get down!" He channeled his aura and, in a sweeping arc, unleashed a devastating 36-wave attack—a mixture of aura and fire that sliced through a wave of Grimm and Moogers, clearing a wide path for the crowd to escape. The area glowed with the aftershock of his strike, embers swirling in the smoke.

As Sun drove his staff into the ground again, fissures cracked beneath a group of Grimm, swallowing them whole. He glanced up and caught Jaune's eye as the Atlesian Knights—finally back under control—began to fight beside the Huntsmen, their rifles picking off Moogers and beasts alike.

Jaune called out, "Whitley did it!"

Sun grinned, knocking a Beowolf off its feet with a boulder that erupted from the ground. "Of course he did. That's what the nerd does best!"

Suddenly, the ground rumbled harder—this time, not from Sun's power. Both Rangers paused as the earth split further and a guttural roar echoed through the chaos. Giant Moogers, bigger and more heavily armored than the rest, began to claw their way from the widening fissures, weapons raised.

Jaune turned to see yet another great horror—a monstrous, dragon-shaped Grimm stirring from the ruins of Mount Glenn. The beast's colossal wings unfurled, and its crimson eyes glared down at Beacon, each slow, thunderous step shaking the ground and striking terror into the hearts of all who saw it.

Jaune's knuckles whitened around his sword. "What are we supposed to do against that…?"

His morpher beeped. Clare's voice rang out. "Listen up, Rangers. A new power has awoken. There is no time like now for you to become the legends you were meant to be."

Jaune and Sun exchanged a look of grim determination, the fires of resolve burning in their eyes. The battlefield was still a storm, but hope flickered anew.

Elsewhere, Pyrrha noticed Ozpin watching her from the entryway to Beacon's hidden vaults. She hesitated, then followed him, Penny close behind—drawn, as if by destiny, toward whatever crucial decision was about to unfold.

To be continued…

AN: Next Chapter is the finale of the Beacon volume 3,

And it is time I bring back a Power Rangers staple. No matter what anyone says no power rangers story is a power rangers story with out the big guys.
