Chapter 3

Chapter Text

Mawari blows her whistle and pulls her whip back. “Go on, move it!”

“Ow!” Kai cries as the tip smacks him in the back.

He continues pulling up the massive cinder block alongside Saturn. Both of whine are skin and bones, exhausted.

Among the others working are Shark, Octopus (in human form), the three fish brothers, the vendors who harassed Nagasumi on his first date with Sun, among the rest of the Seto Clan. In addition, they work alongside the boys who were members of her “fanclub” and who also served as Minamoto’s enforcers. Supervised by the girls who worked under Mawari and Chiyo in the disciplinary committee.

They are being forced to build a gigantic statue of Nagasumi, reaching so high that half the town is covered in its shadow. And they are halfway done with the head.

“I can’t believe Sun is making us build a statue of Nagasumi of all people,” Saturn says.

“So…hungry?” Shark says/asks.

“But why is Sun mad at US!?” a boy from her fanclub asks. “We dedicated our lives to her.”

“You celebrated her boyfriend’s death, and didn’t listen to her when she tried telling you NOT to arrest people,” a girl says.

“You were at his funeral-festival too!”

“That was before Mawari and Sun explained he wasn’t actually a pervert. Now work!”

As Mawari forced the majority of Nagasumi’s unrepentant tormentors and ensured that he was honored, the Last Amazonness (now with contacts) was on a mission of her own.

“Gah!” Chimp cries as Last Amazonness pierces his side with the Spear of Neptune pierces his neck.

Though, since it is a magic spear it doesn’t actually hurt him. Instead it just removes impurities from his body and soul. So a large amount of his selfishness and pervertedness just fades away.

Chimps shameless perverted grin falls into a remorseful frown. “Oh my god, I was a disgusting pervert and a bad friend.”

As he cries, Last Amazoness places a bandaid on his neck. Her mark that she had purified him already.

Others run, but they are chased after by two miniature (former) assasins.

“Stop right there!” Maki shouts. “You hurt Nagasumi-Kun back when he was alive and didn’t listen to Lady Sun when she asked you to stop hurting people now.”

Maki shoots a beebee pellet at his ankles and he falls to the ground.

Fuki lands on his back.

Note, both Maki and Fuki have bandaids on their torsos.

“Don’t worry, it will only hurt for a second, and then you’ll be a better person,” Fuki says.

“You tell him, Sis,” Maki says.

Soon enough, Last Amazonness catches up to them and she purifies that man as well.

Sun Seto stands on a cliff, overlooking Seto Bay.

She takes a deep breat and exhales, sending out a gentle breeze across the land.

She waves her hand, and it sends out a gust of flower petals that spread across the earth. From the edge of Japan to the gulf of Mexico. She sends out another gust in another direction, and so forth. Each time she does, she can sense a flower petal coming into contact with a human or a merfolk, and it add a bit of nourishment to their soul.

For example, one man accidentally gets another persons mail, and he initially throws it away. But one flower petal from Sun lands on him, and he is motivated to take it out of the trash and send it back to the post office.

Sun smiles, satisfied that she’s doing her job as a goddess and making this world a little better.

“Nagasumi, I can’t wait for you to see this world.” She gazes at the statue of him being built in the distance. “You might not approve of THAT, but I promise I will make sure no one hurts you ever again.”

She hears people, merfolk and human alike praying to her. Often times praying together.

“Merfolk no longer hide from humans, and I have undone Minamoto’s mistakes. Now, humans and merfolk walk side by side.”

She hears the prayers of a merfolk man being harassed by a group of humans. Sun blows and sends a torrent of flower pedals to the site of the attack. One flower petal heals the merfolks wounds, and the others land on the humans. The humans appologize and extend their hands to help the merfolk stand up.

“It’s still not perfect,” Sun admits. “Agression, selfishness, apathy, they are the nature of both merfolk and humanity. It got as bad as it was because Terra was a tired goddess, she became apathetic so the world did, and that allowed cruelty to fester. But I swear, as long as I reign, I will do whatever I can to make this world a better place. Now, the Mippopo religion spreads the word of the goddess Sun, who preaches chivalry and kindness. While Emperor Masa, no Emperor Aniue Shiranui, is working with Akeno in modernizing the merfolk. We are going to have an election for merfolk prime minister soon. Lunar is thinking about running, but….”

She senses Last Amazonness piercing Lunar in the butt with the Spear of Neptune.

“Ok, lets give her a shot.”

Sun looks down. “Your grandmother died. Although I guess you already know that. She was already a wreck over loosing her only grandchild, then the loss of her son and daughter-in-law was the final nail in her coffin. I’m sorry, that one was on me.” She turns her head around. “Are they with you, Nagasumi?”

Being a goddess, Sun can peer into the otherworld. On the flip-side of the living world, she sees Nagasumi’s soul beside his grandpa and grandmother.

“No, they are in the lower levels,” Nagasumi says. “You know, where the…um, fire and brimstone is.”

Sun nods. “I see. And my dad?”

Nagasmi points behind him. “He’s over there.”

Gozahuro’s soul, like like is body, is rotting and decaying into the earth.

“Really Gozaburo, even here?”

“Oh Sun….” Gozaburo groans.

“I was there once,” Nagasumi’s Grandfather says, refeering to the lower level. “They will be released sooner or later.” He gazes up at the sky. “But they will never earn their place in heaven.”

Nagasumi’s Grandmother pats her grandson on the back. “Nagasumi was invited to heaven, but he decided to stay here with us. He is such a good grandson. But if he wants to go back to you, then we approve.”

Sun gives Nagasumi a sad smile. “What do you say, Nagasumi?” She extends a hand. “I know that life was hard for you, and my presence didn’t make it better. But, please, I’m offering you a better chance at life now.”

Nagasumi steps froward. The dead teen gazes at his immortal goddess girlfriend.

“Your presence didn’t make it better?” Nagasumi chuckles, then he grabs Suns hands. “Sun, my life was ALWAYS miserible, long before you came along. You were beautiful, and sweet, and kind. You were willing to fight a yakuza gang for me. You saved my life more times than I could count. You gave me someone to live and fight for. If I had never met you, I probably would have grown up to be just as awful and selfish as my dad. You MADE me a better man, Sun. Remember that.”

Sun smiles and tears form in her eyes. “Will you give life another chance?”

Nagasumi clasps her cheek. “I would do it all over again to be with you.”

Sun tries to hug Nagasumi, but she phases through him. So, instead, she just nods.

“I promise. This time, we are going to be together forever.”

Nagasumi’s image fades, and Sun is back in the living world.

The sun sets over Seto Bay.

“It is time.”

Night has fallen.

On the beach of Seto Bay, Sun holds the urn carrying Nagasumi’s ashes. She is surrounded by Ren, Akeno, Mawari, Chiyo/Amazonness, Maki, Fuki, Maruko, and Lunar.

“I am sorry my brother couldnt be here,” Akeno says. “He’s still getting used to the emperor position.”

“It is fine,” Sun says. “I’m sure he will be happy to see Nagasumi later.” Sun smiles and grips the urn as the tide washes against the sand under her feet. “Lets begin.”

Sun pours the ashes from the urn onto the wet sand.

She, along with everyone else present, helps mix the ashes in with the sand and sculpts Nagasumi’s body.

They create an exact replica of Nagasumi from the sand, lying on his back. All the way down to that hair that always sticks up.

Sun kneels down, hovering over the scultpure. She smiles and a golden divine tear of joy landds on the scultures head.

Everyone watches as Sun clasps the scultpures face. She presses her lips against it’s, and breathes out divine air.

Sand, mud, and ash turns to flesh and blood.

And Nagasumi opens his eyes, alive once more.

From that day forward, the goddess Sun and her immortal consort Nagasumi resided over the world, and brought about a golden age.

Notes:

I think this is the last sequel chapter for now. I have no other ideas. Maybe I will add more if I think of something, but not right now.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything I missed from the franchise that you want me to touch up on?

All comments and kudos are appreciated. Thank you.

Notes:

I recommend that you guys check out a new MBIAM story that’s just started “My groom is mermaid” by Animechefgirl6375. Nagasumi has a twin sister and Sun is a boy. Male!Sun x Female OC. Male!Sun is more flirty and less of an air head.

Let me know how you like this concept.

Do you think I have made Sun OC?

Don't worry, there WILL be character development for her though.
