Kalim beamed when he saw who he thought was Ruggie. He waved at him, and the person also waved back. "Welcome! Welcome to Scarabia!" He grasped his wrist, pausing.

He could feel the bones through the skin.

He wasn't eating enough.

He wasn't eating.

He wasn't being fed well.

He needs to eat.

Ruggie looked awkward, freeing his wrist from Kalim's grasp. Kalim snapped back to reality and plastered back his smile. "Ah, I'm sorry for staring at you earlier! I was just mesmerized by your looks!"

Not that it was a lie. Besides, Ruggie looks cute blushing!

"Ah.. uhm... well—."

"Shark Sucker, nice to see yah!" Looking behind Ruggie, Kalim saw a trio. One of them had glasses on with a 'Let's make a deal' smile, and the two, who were twins, had teal hair—one of them had a black strand on the left and the other had it on the right.

The one who had it on the left, grinned at him. "Hmm~ yah look like a Sea Otter. Nee, Sea Otter, is Kingyo-chan here~?"

Kalim blinked at him, tilting his head in confusion. 'Kingyo-chan...? Is that... Uhh Riddle, was it?'

Seeing the look on Kalim's face, the guy's smile dropped into a disinterested one. He began to turn around when his twin placed his hand on his shoulder. "Now, now, Floyd, you agreed to come here. There's no backing out now."

Ah, so that was Floyd Leech... Meaning the right strand guy is Jade Leech. Kalim internally nodded.

"Tch, whatever. Goldfishie isn't here, it'll be borin' anyway—."

"I advise you to not call me by that insulting nickname."

Kalim saw how Floyd's face lit up. Running up to a red haired guy, who was standing next to a silver haired guy.

Floyd wrapped his arms around the guy's waist, lifting him up in the air. Riddle turned red in the face(Kalim wasn't sure if it was from anger or something else.

"F-FLOYD, PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT!"

The red boy struggled to be free from the strong grip, ultimately giving up when the grip only got stronger. Floyd squealed slightly when Riddle reluctantly hugged him back. "Kingyo-chan! Kingyo-chan! Glad yah here!"

"Could you release me now?" Thankfully for Riddle, Floyd listened albeit with hesitation. Unfortunately for the spectators, it ended.

"Damn, and I thought Floyd couldn't listen to anyone. Maybe Riddle should be around during basketball practice." Kalim's scream could be heard in the main campus, like literally.

He covered his mouth in embarrassment, mumbling apologies. Jamil just sighed, releasing himself from an octopus' grip. "Foods ready, by the way."

The look on Ruggie's face was the highlight of Kalim's day(even if he doesn't know it). The first years went to follow Jamil to the Lounge, only to be surprised to see it was empty without the dorm members there.

Kalim grinned at them when they turned around to him, questions in their eyes. "Hehe, well, I ask them about their schedules each and they all seem busy on this certain day! What a relief."

Riddle raised an elegant eyebrow, "And pray tell, why is it a relief?"

"Well—."

"He wanted to celebrate the fact he got friends other than 'me'," Jamil interrupted him unintentionally, giving a plate to Kalim—who mumbled a thank you—and to the rest too. "Come on now, I didn't make this food just for nothing."

Ruggie was the first to be putting food on his plate, followed by an enthusiastic Kalim and a dragged Jamil(by Kalim), and then Silver. Soon after, the tweels followed.

Azul and Riddle watched them in an awkward silence, both sitting on the couch. Azul turned to look at Riddle with a business smile. "May I inquire, Riddle, why are you not joining them?"

"I'm not hungry," 'And besides I've already met my daily calorie intake today', was left unsaid on his tongue; nearly rolling out but was pushed back in. Riddle turned to Azul. "What about you?"

"Hm, I've already eaten. I wasn't expecting to be dragged by the tweels to come here, so I'm deeply saddened that I cannot taste the food Jamil made." Azul turned back to watch the six others grab food to eat.

Both knew the other was lying, yet they couldn't pinpoint what exactly they were lying.

The tweels walked towards them, with a heavy large portion of food on their plate. Riddle reluctantly made space for Floyd to sit beside him.

Floyd held a spoonful of food near Riddle's mouth, who was very much resisting the attempt of food. "Come on, Goldfishie~. You can't grow taller if you don't eat~."

"Floyd, I've already eaten—." Riddle's words were cut off by food entering his mouth. His pupils dilated when he realized.

It's... sweet... Poison.

Sugar. Poison. 

'It's bad for you, my dear. Sugar is poisonous, I'm only doing this to protect you.'

He puts a hand to his mouth, running to wherever the bathroom was in. But he didn't manage to reach it, instead collapsing into the floor—throwing up the food content in his mouth and the things he ate early.

He stared at the disgusting pile of food. 'My pest, how could you leave such a mess?! You're such an ungrateful child! Do you know how much I sacrificed for you to be here?!'

Quietly, he took out his magic pen and cast a spell to clean up the mess. Without another word, he walked away, back to the Lounge.

It was quiet, filled with tension. He sat next to Jamil, looking at the interior design. His eyes drifted off to Azul eating reluctantly by the other twin. Then at the other's twin looking back at him then at his food.

And after that, they played games. Azul had to double look if Riddle was the same guy that couldn't lie to save his life because he won multiple times! Riddle wouldn't exactly admit it outright but he enjoyed the faces Azul makes.

Thankfully, nothing bad happened after that. However, Riddle would like to know why the same Leech didn't let go of his hand, even after his companions walked through the portal.

Floyd looked awkward, like he was experiencing this for the first time, "Can... can we, y'know, talk?"

Riddle huffed, but agreed nonetheless. They walked to a secluded area Kalim pushed them to. They stood face to face with each other.

Riddle had his arms crossed near his chest, while Floyd was scratching his neck. "Look... I.. uhh, fuck, apologies are so hard."

"It's only hard for you when you want to say it genuinely. But nevertheless I'll accept your failed apology."

"...I would like to apologize to you because I didn't accept no as an answer and force you to do something you didn't really wanna do. And I know you truly don't accept my apology but I'll do anything to make sure that I get your full acceptance of it and even after that, I'll still do anything." Floyd was red on the face when he ended the speech.

Riddle was speechless, he had expected a half apology from the other, but this? This was quite unexpected. He felt his own face become hotter by the second before he hid it in his palm. "...If you truly want to apologize then... you must help with the next unbirthday celebration preparations two weeks from now."

Floyd nodded his head multiple times, determined. "Yes, Goldfishie. I'll do it."

And for the first time, Riddle didn't exactly mind the nickname the other gave him. He quite finds it enduring(not like he'd admit it).

Kalim coed at the scene in front of him. Really, Jamil should've told him that there was a love drama in the school! And who loves drama more than him.

Well, at least this day was a success first hangout with the first years. Thank the sevens, that crow had agreed to have the Scarabia students, except Jamil, clean the whole campus!

He does feel a little bit bad tho... Either way, he got friends! Ahhh, he was so excited to tell his mama!

'Phew, that ended quite well. And I'm so glad Ruggie isn't abused in his household...'

Kalim was grinning from ear to ear. He was so happy! This was their second hang out being friends!

Well, probably in his point of view, he could tell that they only see each other as acquittances rather than friends. But Kalim wanted them to see each other as the best of friends sooner rather than later.

"Kalim," Turning around, he saw Silver walk out of the mirror—holding a bag and an umbrella. "Hello, Fa—Lilia told me to bring extra clothes lest I get stuck here due to the storm."

Kalim laughed slightly, he reached out his palm towards Silver, who shook it. "..."

"..."

"You were supposed to hand it to me..."

"...Oh."

Silver shook his head, insisting that he could carry it himself. They were so engrossed in their bickering that they didn't saw a figure walk close behind Kalim.

"Boo!"

"AHHH—RUGGIE! Don't scare me like that!" Kalim was practically clinging to Silver for dear life, while said silver haired man kept stumbling from the sudden extra weight thrown at him. Ruggie was grinning like he got the cream.

"Nishishi, sorry~." They would have(not) believed it if it were not the amused look on Ruggie's face. Ruggie winched slightly when someone tugged on his ear.

Kalim and Silver looked at the perpetrator, with murderous contempt. Only to relax slightly seeing as it was only a soaked Leona.

Leona sighed. "He wanted me to come along with him, and said it was productive."

"Ah bon? Alors je ne peux qu'acquiescer. Te voir trempée est un spectacle à ne pas manquer, Leona-senpai." A very familiar voice reached their ears. Leona grumbled, turning around to see Riddle wearing an amused smile whilst holding a basket on one hand and an umbrella the other.

Seeing the sling bag slowly fall from Riddle's shoulder, Leona walked up to him and extended his hand, gesturing for him to give it to him. Riddle blinked up at him, but obliged. "Ma sincère gratitude."

Kalim tilted his head at Riddle, who looked back and nodded in his direction. He was going to speak when thunder was heard, making them hurry inside.

Riddle tried to reason with Leona, to give him back his bag so that he could go back to his own dorm—although, his complaint wasn't exactly comprehensible due to it being in Pyroxene language. Leona yelped when Riddle brought his sharp ass pointy heel shoe so close to Leona's private part. It was certainly a surprise to them seeing Leona yelp.

That got a laugh out of the group, well except Riddle and Leona—who were in a glaring contest. When Kalim opened the door to his room, he was surprised to see the tweels and an octopus looking around with a very annoyed Jamil sitting near the edge of the bed.

"Why didn't I saw you guys walk through the mirror?"

The trio looked at the group, Azul adjusted his glasses and smoothed out his wet clothes. "Hm, I wasn't exactly planning on coming here, however the tweels dragged me here and didn't grab an umbrella."

"That doesn't explain—."

"I was astonished by how they packed my part of the clothes, even though I said I did not want to come here."

"Azul."

"Being sneaky has its perk when we were young."

Riddle nodded at that, putting it in his brain storage so he could expect an attack from Floyd whenever. "Azul, puis-je poser une question?"

Azul's eyes boggle at his words, he looked at the others with confusion in his eyes—which they returned with their own. Floyd was cackling at their expression.

Riddle handed the basket to Jamil, before looking at Azul in the eyes. "...Hm?"

The room was filled with confused silence, Azul continued to stare at Riddle, who was still expecting an answer from Azul. Eventually, Floyd broke the silence. "Héhé, Goldfishie~, tu parles encore en Pyroxène~!"

The group sent a surprised look at the eel, which he wholeheartedly ignored. Instead, his attention was one the red hair—who was looking at him in shock, before he realized what he was talking about.

The red haired boy's face was almost the same as his hair. He coughed into his fist, avoiding the purplish-blue eyes looking at him in amusement. "Ahem, apologies, what I meant to say was, may I ask you a question?"

"Oh, I see. Hm..., maybe later, after all this is our hangout, right?" As he said that, a lightning bolt appeared outside. It made Kalim scream and clung onto Ruggie's, whose ears were flat on his head.

Riddle clung himself to Leona, who was protectively clutching him too. Jamil was standing there with a clingy octopus. The tweels were hugging each other for dear life.

Leona looked at the shaking Riddle. "Can you let go now?" His voice was soft in asking him, Riddle looked up at him; blinking multiple times before he finally let go albeit with reluctance.

Riddle redirected his line of sight to Floyd, "Floyd." Floyd snapped his head in his direction, with his droopy smile. "Yes, Kingyo-chan~?"

"Since when did you speak Pyroxene?"

"Weeellll, you see, Goldfishie, when I was very young..."

"...And that's how I know Pyroxene." Floyd ended his story after an hour of doing so and occasionally getting interrupted by Jade, who would correct anything if it was wrong in his eyes.

Leona had walked out and didn't explain why, halfway through Floyd's explanation. The first years were in several states of interest during Floyd's explanation; Riddle, Kalim, and Silver were amused, Jade, and Azul were correcting him, and Jamil was carefully laying out the tarts and away from Ruggie—who was drooling from seeing it.

Azul summoned plates and gave each first years one. Ruggie was, obviously, the first to claim the first slice. Kalim went next, but let Jamil check if it was poisoned or not—much to the confusion of the other people in the room. Jamil nodded at him, before getting his own slice whilst Kalim was gushing at how he loved the taste.

Silver, who woke up, was almost crying tears of joy, eating something edible. Jade followed suit, putting two slices of the chestnut tart on his plate after seeing Azul not having materialized a plate for himself. Azul had to reluctantly manifest a plate to take it.

Now there were two people who have yet to claim their slice. Riddle looked at Floyd, who was sitting on the floor, humming. "Might I ask why you're not joining them, Floyd?"

"Meh, not hungry." Riddle would like to disagree, he could clearly see Floyd clutching his stomach to not let him hear it grumble.

He sighed, "It seems, I have no choice."

Floyd sent him a puzzled look as he stood up to the table, and picked up a piece. Riddle paused, looking at the remaining last slice, and reluctantly placed that slice.

Riddle sat, surprisingly, on the floor next to Floyd. He handed him one of the pieces of the tart, Floyd gave a small yet genuine smile.

"Goldfishie, is the other one yours~?"

"No."

"Then don't mind if I take it~." When Floyd started moving to get the last slice, Riddle lifted the plate up in the air and started scooching away, which made Floyd smirk. "Nee, nee, Kingyo-chan~, I thought it wasn't yours~?"

"..."

Floyd happily munched on his slice, while occasionally butting on the conversion of the other first years. Riddle was staring at his own slice, hesitantly picking up his fork.

He was startled when a hand cut a small piece from his tart and placed it near his lips. He glared at the perpetrator, Floyd, who was looking at him expectantly.

The audience watching them, rushed to take their phone out to record this moment. Yet it felt like a singular brick was removed from his shoulders. Feeling like a teenager for once.

He slowly opened his mouth, and ate the piece of tart given to him—Floyd lit up, seeing him eat it. He hummed in satisfaction.

"Good?"

"Good, although I'd rather had it be strawberry tarts. Besides Trey already makes these for me if I want any"

"I'll make one for yah if Kingyo-chan visits Mostro Lounge!"

"There's no need, Floyd—."

"Nonsense! Kingyo-chan needs to eat more to grow~."

"Floyd! I swear to the sevens—."

Kalim continued to eat his piece of tart while Jamil was sitting next to him—also eating whilst recording Floyd and Riddle's interaction. Azul and Jadez who were finished eating their slice, were recording with amused expressions.

Silver looked at the recording group. He whispered to them, "We're playing this at their wedding, right?"

"If they will have one."

"Kalim. Kalim, I swear. They're the only couple I ship! Don't sink the boat before it even sets sail!" Jamil had a panicked expression on his face while also shaking his head.

"You're going to ship us? To where?" Riddle snapped his head towards them, confusion in his eyes. Jamil turned to look at him. "Man... You really are an unc, huh?"

"What? I'm not a—?"

"Haha! Well uhh how about we play a game?"

That got everyone's attention. Azul glared at Riddle, who merely gave him a smile. "What kind, Ruggie?"

"Smash or Pass." Ruggie grinned, seeing the expressions on their faces made it grow wider. Kalim laughed awkwardly. "Perhaps, we should pass this game?"

Sounds of agreement were heard in the room, making Ruggie pout. "Fine, fine, well what game should we do?"

"Two truths, one lie!" Kalim raised his hand quickly to suggest it. The first years looked at him then at each other, and nodded. Kalim internally did a victory dance.

"Okay, I'll start! Hmm..., okay I got it;

1. I used to pretend to be sick to escape classes when I wanted to.

2. My little sister's mom gave me a poisonous snake that died mysteriously a few days later. She got executed for trying to harm me.

3. My hair used to be super long that assassins used to their advantage."

Jamil really wanted to laugh at their dumbfounded expression, really he does but he had to hold it in. Kalim covered his mouth. "Jamil can't guess! Nor give clues!"

"I—... I never thought I'd feel the urge to suddenly jump off a building." Riddle exclaimed, and then the rain started to get heavy. "Metaphorically. But I'll pick... Three?"

"Surprised you didn't pick one."

"Shut it."

Floyd held out three fingers. Jade and Azul raised two. Ruggie and Silver picked one. "It's one!" He grinned at them. The others just looked at him in shock.

"...WHAT. WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH YOUR LIFE?!"

"Man, so this is what it's like to be of a higher status..."

Riddle mumbled something under his breath, yet only Kalim could hear it. 'Huh, interesting.' He mused.

Chapter Text

After Kalim's turn in two truths, one lie. They decided to do a fairytale reenaction before continuing—much to Kalim's excitement and confusion.

Riddle chuckled at the roleplay happening in front of him. Wrapping himself in the blanket. It was quite chilly due to the storm a certain fae sulking made.

"And," Jamil narrated with a deadpanned expression and tone, "The thief climbed the tower—not knowing the witch was waiting for him."

He flipped through another page, whilst Ruggie—playing the thief in the story—was doing climbing movements. "When he arrived at the very top of the tower. He searched for the princess."

Ruggie looked around. "Only," he winched, his body falling forward as he placed some ketchup on his stomach—revealing Azul holding a fake dagger, "To be stabbed by the witch behind him."

A perfectly timed lightning boomed near.

"NOO, RUGG—!" Jade pressed a hand on Kalim's mouth to keep him from shouting. "Calm down," he reassured, "It's merely a play."

The mer's eyebrow twitched when the Kalim bit down on his hand. "Kalim."

"The princess can only watch in despair," Jamil's mouth twitched when he saw Jade actively trying to stop himself from screaming, "As her beloved thief was stabbed in front of her."

He closed the book, "The end."

Riddle blinked, stunned at the abrupt change of storyline. "Are you," he tilted his head, "certain that's the ending?"

"Yes."

Everyone in the room knew damn well what the actual ending was. And yet, Jamil stood his ground.

"Nee~ Umihebi-kun, we know the OG story endin' and it ain't the one you just said." Floyd gave Jamil a grin, tilting his head to the side. "Unless, that's what yah want the endin' to be as?"

Silver snapped out of his drowsiness, removing the loosely tied knot around his hands and the handkerchief from his mouth. "First time reenacting a version of the Tower princess having a bad ending. Kinda nervous."

Riddle lightly huffed, brushing away his bangs when he saw a notification from his phone. He tilted his head before his eyes softened.

Riddle snapped out of his own thoughts, looking at the perpetrator who snapped him out for it. "Kalim, what do you need?"

Kalim grinned at him, "It's your turn for two truths, one lie." He pointed to the first years forming a circle, dragging Riddle to it.

"Uh, alright," he turned off his phone, sitting next to Silver. "Okay, let me think of a few..."

He tilted his head, looking back at his phone then at Kalim—who blinked at him. "Hm, okay but first," he pointed at Silver, who was dozing off, "You're not going to answer nor give hints by any means, got it, Sil?"

Silver rolled his eyes, laying down to look at the still ongoing rain. "Fine, fine. I won't."

Riddle nodded in satisfaction, before holding his index finger up. "1.) I am a practice child for Leona and Malleus during their situationship."

Azul's mouth was left agape as he frantically looked for a notebook around him. He glared at Jade, who only gave him a smile.

"2.) Mother would yell at me if I approached the kitchen during my younger years."

"..." Riddle bit his lower lip, hesitating to say the next words. "3.) ...Mother ate my pet... fish."

He looked around the circle. The expressions on their faces vary from shock, horror, and murderous. Heck, even Silver was puzzled. "What the Woe? How come I have never heard of these?"

Riddle blinked at him, tilting his head—which he found was a common occurrence when he was curious. "You... did not know?"

"No?!"

"Well, then," Riddle stared at his phone, messaging someone, "I suppose you can join in the others guessing the lie." That snapped the others from their dazing.

"Two, I don't like that," Ruggie mumbled, opening a bag of chips Kalim handed him. Kalim nodded at Ruggie's words.

"Two, if it's true, lemme squeeze your mom, Goldfishie." Floyd was tilting his head, in a... very worrisome angle.

"There will be no squeezing!"

"Booooo."

Azul raised three hands. Jade as well. Jamil raised two. Silver thought about it, thinking of every conversation he had with Riddle, before picking two.

He tilted his head, "Are you all sure with your answers?" They now looked very hesitant. "Well?"

The others looked at each other then back at Riddle. Azul mumbled something about if Riddle was a merfolk, they would have probably spent a lot of time thinking about it. Riddle shifted slightly hearing Azul's words, looking back at his phone once again.

"It's three."

Silence. Absolute silence.

They looked at Riddle like they had heard him say something out of character. He shifted again under their gaze. Floyd cracked his knuckles, "Hey, Goldfishie, might I just squeeze your mom?"

"There will be no squeezing! How dare you even suggest that!" Riddle's face began to turn red, pulling out his pen to cast his unique magic. His phone rang, making him pause. Looking at the user, he sighed and shook his head.

Riddle looked at the group, "Excuse me." He walked out of the room, leaving them in silence.

"So," Ruggie started, placing his chin on his palm, "The Tower princess—."

"The ending I gave you all was very much the true ending," the Viper huffed, scowling at the continuous sounds of the rain and occasional lightning. "For seven's sake, someone cast a sound barrier!"

"I could do it," Azul smirked, "With a price—."

"Okay, Mr. Alpha male CEO basic ass gacha life looking octopus guy character, no one is falling for your tricks." Jamil grabbed his magic pen, "In fact, I'll just do it myself."

Azul frowned, huffing when Jamil set up the barrier. Next to him, Jade was trying his best to hold in his laughter whilst Floyd didn't even hide it—outright laughing out loud.

Ruggie was lost in thought, thinking about the practice child part. He looked back up to Riddle walking in with an exasperated expression. "Sorry for leaving suddenly. I had to convince my cousin to go to the doctor."

"Hey, Ri," Riddle looked at him with an expression contemplating whether to collar him or listen to what he'll say, "What do you mean by 'practice child'?"

Riddle tilted his head, looking at his phone—typing furiously, then back at Ruggie. "I said what I said." He twirled his index finger in the air. 

"Before the inevitable end to their situationship," he materialized a puff of smoke which was shaped like a lion and a dragon, "I was their practice child for two months—even now with their other I-told-you-I-am-not-in-a-situationship situationship."

"OMS!" Ruggie gave him a particularly large grin. "Sameeeee! Apparently I looked like, and I quote 'a bicthy ass who doesn't look like he has parents. Kingscholar, that's not very polite of you. Shut it, Lizard.'"

Riddle blinked at Ruggie, "You as well?" The hyena nodded frantically.

Silver groaned, placing a hand to his forehead. "Can we please, for the love of the Thorn Fairy, continue the game?"

"Fine, fine."

They all stared at Floyd, the eel just scowled, "Let's get this over with, 1.) I was in class with royalty during my childhood."

"2.) I bit someone's toe off," he stuck out his tongue, "3.) I hate takoyaki."

Kalim awkwardly nodded with a smile plastered on his face. He looked at the others who also had various awkward expressions—except Azul and Jade who were not going to answer.

"Two." Riddle exclaimed, breaking the silent atmosphere. Ruggie held up one finger. "Hurry uuuuuuppppppp," Floyd popped the 'p', "I'm gettin' boorrrrreeeeeeeed."

"Three." Silver uttered, lazily placing his head on Riddle's shoulder.

"Two." Kalim handed Ruggie his second bag of chips when he saw the hyena eyeing it again.

"One." Jamil threw Azul a disgusted look when the octopus made eye contact with him—which the latter found offending.

"Nee~ why are yah three counting down~?" Floyd tilted his head to the side. "But hmm three is false."

"...Why, in the Queen of Hearts name, did you bite someone's toe off?"

"Meh, was curious."

"OKAY, unless Riddle collars Floyd, who's next?"

The spell Jamil casted was useful for blocking out the rain and lighting sounds. As it was revealed, most, if not all, of them have a bad experience with both. Riddle groaned, placing a hand to his forehead.

He sat up as silently as possible, grabbing his phone and walked out of Kalim's room. He looked through his contact, pressing to an unread message from [???].

Jamil nodded at him when he looked up. "Good morning, Riddle."

"I could say the same about you," he buried his face into a pillow, "...just a dream."

Riddle raised an eyebrow and tilted his head. "What sort of dream?" Jamil shrugged, focusing on the sound of rain outside.

"It was strange," he mumbled, "it was dark and eerie too. And a gooey inky substance..." He shook his head. "Nevermind," he laid back down, "I should go back to sleep."

Riddle stared at Jamil's back, then back at his phone—typing to [???]. Ignoring the pleading help. Before laying back down as well.

Kalim woke up with an aching leg that felt... wet for some reason. He looked down, eyes widening in horror, he covered his leg again, 'Darn it, maybe I shouldn't have removed the bandages so early.' He groaned, hiding his face in his pillow.

Ignoring the pain is one thing, explaining why he was bleeding was another. He can't just 'Hey, so, I got another assassination attempt before I came to Night Raven College and they injured my leg quite a lot. Hahaha LOL, sorry for not telling you, Jamil, even though you're probably scared to die if I die!'

Cause noooo, life just had to get it out for him. Great, just GREAT, wonderful even! Ha. Ha. Ha.

He looked up, locking eyes with Ruggie. The hyena went closer to him until both their faces were touching. Kalim could feel his face heating up then turned sheet white hearing Ruggie's next words.

"Why do I smell blood from you?" Ruggie's eyebrows furrowed, sniffing the scent around Kalim. Kalim backed up from him, laughing with a tone Ruggie knew was strained.

"B-Blood? What're you talking about? There's no blood." Kalim wheezed, backing up more—ignoring the pain—when Ruggie got closer.

"...My, my, how intriguing."

Both of them froze, turning their heads to who owned the voice. Jade was smiling with an amused smile then dropped slightly. He tilted his head, "Oh, don't mind me, please do explain why your leg is hurt, Kalim."

Kalim snapped his head towards Ruggie who was rolling up his pajamas with a concerned and alarmed expression. "Ruggie."

The Hyena's ears were pinned back on his head. "I was jus' worried..." He mumbled, tone still with worry.

Someone snuck up behind him, "Seems like you got the scar at most three weeks ago." Kalim jumped up slightly, before realizing it was just Riddle.

"Kalim," and that was it, Kalim was done for. Jamil was awake and crossing his arms with his eyebrows furrowed. He's dead. Most definitely dead.

"Why," oh, great, great, great, how to explain this? "Didn't you tell me about the scar?"

Kalim fidgeted with his fingers, looking at his injured leg—which had, THANKFULLY, stopped bleeding. "I wanted to... but uhm I forgot?"

'Wow, good job, me, I forgot. Good job.'

Jamil stared at him for a couple of seconds before sighing. He walked up to Kalim, shooing Ruggie from his spot to inspect the wound.

Without another word, he stood up to go to his room and came back with bandages and alcohol. Kalim held on to Riddle, who didn't seem much phase but instead was curious about Jamil applying those.

The others were silently watching. Even Floyd, who woke up after Jamil went to go to his room to get those.

Kalim bit his lower lip when Jamil applied the alcohol to the wound. He grasped Riddle's palm tightly, and the red head let him.

After some very long minutes, Jamil was done applying the bandages. Standing up. "If you guys need anything, just call me. I'll be in the kitchen making food."

Kalim looked at the group still in the room, "So... can we not talk about it, please?"

Azul raised an eyebrow, making eye contact with the others. "Excuse us for a moment."

They huddled to a corner of the room, leaving Kalim to stare at their backs. After a few minutes of hushed discussion, they looked back at him.

Silver pushed Ruggie forward. The hyena glared at the silver head, before turning to look at Kalim. "Uhh, so we think the group needed some rules... And uhh yeah."

"Oh my," they turned to the red head, "I must go now. Someone broke two of the Queen of Hearts' rules."

"Noo~ Goldfishie~!"

"Hush, Floyd."

He bowed to them slightly. "Farewell, ... acquaintances." Kalim gave him a cheerful smile and wave.

"...So about the Tower Princess."

Jamil was staring at Kalim. His red eyes are blankly transfixed on his phone. He never saw the red head like this but the viper wants him to let go of his arm. "Kalim, let go of my arm so that I can cook."

Startled, Kalim looked up at him—his eyes now attentively focused on Jamil. He let go when he fully comprehends what Jamil was saying. "Right sorry, Jamil."

Kalim watched as the viper walked out of his room. His gaze turned back to his phone. Looking down at messages he received.

Kalim wasn't stupid enough to know they were all sugar coated lies. That won't work on him anymore. At least, he hopes so.

Kalim sat on his magical carpet, reaching out his hand for Ruggie to take. It was a bit difficult tho; when he finally got Ruggie on the carpet, he gave him a side eye.

Kalim asked him if there was something wrong yet Ruggie just shook his head. They held on to the carpet as it lifted them up to the air.

Kalim looked down to give Jamil a grin and a wave while Ruggie had his ears flat on his head. 'Maybe, suggesting a magic carpet ride to Kalim was a bad idea.'

Yet when he looked at the white head, all he felt was this fuzzy (confusing) feeling. The smile on Kalim's face widened with his arms lifted up.

Ruggie resisted the urge to sneeze suddenly to not let Kalim wake up.

He placed Kalim on his bed. Then, he stood there. His gaze on Kalim's upper thigh.

[12:03am]

Ruggie's nose scrunched up, silently groaning. He turned to his side, trying to find the missing warmth he had during his sleep.

Only to find the place without warmth. He opened one eye open, the bathroom's light was the brightest thing he saw in the room.

His nose contorted when he went close to the bathroom. His ears perked up from hearing small sobs inside.

Worry washed over him, knocking on the door. "Kalim?"

Something dropped inside the bathroom, he heard Kalim stutter with a crack in his voice. "Y-yeah? You need anything, Ruggie?"

Ruggie twisted on the knob, finding it unlocked. He opened the door, expecting a sparkling clean bathroom. Only for his blood to run cold seeing the red on the floor with a wide eyed Kalim.

Kalim's mouth opened then closed then opened again. "Ruggie... I-I can explain!"

He scrambled to get a small pocket knife in the pool of blood. He stood up with a disconcerted smile on his face. "It isn't what it looks like!"

Ruggie stepped forward, his mind having a will of its own. Before Kalim could even react, he snatched the knife from Kalim's grasp.

"Ruggie!"

The hyena lifted the knife up for the boy to not steal it back. He looked at the bathtub full of water, then at Kalim's wrists bleeding. "You were planning to kill yourself."

It wasn't a question, it was a statement. And both of them knew.

Kalim's breath hitched, lowering his hands. He looked at the bathtub behind him. "I... I wasn't."

Ruggie wrapped the boy in his grasp tightly yet loose enough for him to wiggle out. Kalim's eyes widened, holding on to Ruggie tightly. "Please. Just please don't."

His voice wobbled when he choked out those words. "You've become one of the most important people in my life, even by the short amount of time I knew you. So, please, I beg of you, don't die."

Kalim shut his eyes tightly, letting his sobs be heard. His bloody wrists stain Ruggie's clothes. For a few moments, he stayed like that before he looked up at Ruggie.

His eyes were puffy and tired. "Then... Then I will stay alive only for you... and the others."

"Please, don't say that," Ruggie's lips wobble; his tears starting to form, putting his palm to Kalim's cheek, "I don't want you to live just for us. I want you to live for yourself."

"What's the point?" Kalim leaned to his touch, a hollow laughter escaped his throat, "I don't have anything worthy to live for."

"Even my family," his red eyes locked on Ruggie's own. "I love my mother and most of my siblings, truly, but... They aren't going to be the anchor for my will to live."

The hyena pursed his lips, his hold tightening but not enough to harm the boy. "Please. I truly want you here alive and well."

The silence that followed was deafening, not even a chainsaw could cut it. Kalim simply hummed, leaning more towards Ruggie's warmth.

"Such a simple request," he muttered, "yet hard for me to comply."

He removed the hyena's hand from his cheek. Walking to the bathtub, he noticed Ruggie's posture was tense.

"What?" He raised a brow, "I can't kill myself with an audience now can I?"

He gave him one of his smiles—that now seems empty, trying to defuse the situation. Although by the look on Ruggie's face, he failed at doing so.

"...Relax," he dipped his arms in the water, staining it red, "I'm just cleaning my hands."

They fell into silence. Ruggie watches Kalim staining the water red. "... Could you get the bandages?"

He pointed behind Ruggie. Getting the bandages, he was on high alert for any noises behind him indicating the boy was doing something.

Kalim stood up, looking at the filthy water in the tub. He picked up the nearest soap to him, dipping it in the water and rotating it in his left palm. He applied it around his wounds, winching slightly when his palm went too close to it.

"How long have you done this?"

Kalim hummed, noting the hyena's shadow had his ears pinned. "I'm surprised you ask," he poured some water, slightly relaxing by the cold liquid, "Normally when some of my siblings found out or our servants, they would usually berate me because I will ruin the image of the Al-Asim family."

He shook his head, spacing out for a moment. He looked at Ruggie's face full of sympathy. "That's not normal, is it?"

Ruggie approached him, shaking his head. He unwrapped the bandages, Kalim followed suit by lifting his hand up. "No, it isn't normal."

Kalim blankly followed Ruggie's hand movements in wrapping the bandages. "Huh," he tilted his head, "Perhaps it is in the Al-Asim estates."

Ruggie frowned, cutting the bandages and securing it before during it on the other hand. "Don't make it into a normal thing."

Kalim's defeated sigh made his mood worsen. "I'm afraid it already is a normal thing for me."

The hyena huffed but didn't say anything, just pointing to Kalim's upper thigh. The Al-Asim raised a brow, a twitch of his mouth lifting. "I already bandaged it."

Ruggie looked askance at his words, making Kalim let out a puff of air akin to the start of a laugh. "You really don't have that much trust in me, do you?"

The hyena looked away, mumbling that he did but needed confirmation. Kalim stared at him for a few seconds before lifting up his pajamas up to his upper thigh.

"There, happy?"

Ruggie quickly turned his head to the side, his cheeks slightly tinted pink. "Yeah, yeah..."

Kalim stood up and walked to the door. He looked behind him. "Do be a dear friend and pull the drain in the tub. Thank you!"

Ruggie stared at the empty air when Kalim left. He wordlessly lifted his sleeves, trying to find the drain. He washed his hands in the sink, putting the bandages back to its place, turning off the bathroom light then closing the door.

He saw Kalim in his bed with his eyes closed, breathing peacefully like what happened to him didn't happen at all.

He sat at the edge of his bed, looking up at the ceiling. The only sound in the room was Kalim's steady breathing.

Ruggie sighed, putting down his phone. He looked at Kalim sleeping soundly, his arms wrapped around him.

And the sunlight deeply offended both of them with its light. He covered his eyes with his hand, and decided here and there to go back to sleep.

He didn't get that much sleep from last night at all.

Riddle stood in Kalim's room, his face full of gleeful amusement. Although Jamil didn't look amused, he looked like someone offended his ancestors.

Ruggie didn't look at the red head, knowing how he found it amusing. Kalim sat at the edge of his bed, smiling happily. "Good morning."

Jamil nodded his way, still looking at the hyena who seemed to be the one who offended his ancestors. "Yes, yes, uh-huh."

Riddle waved at Kalim, which the latter returned with eagerness. He looked at the viper still offended. "Jamil Viper, please do leave the room—this thing concerns only us three."

He raised an eyebrow, looking at Kalim to confirm whether it was okay or not. To which the rich kid nodded. "Well, fine, Riddle Rosehearts."

'Did I miss a chapter? Why do they keep calling each other their full names?' The richest in the room thought, watching the viper leave.

The atmosphere in the room shifted almost instantly. The two who are not brok stared at each other and the broke one stood by the door, making sure the viper wasn't actually listening.

Rosehearts sat down next to Al-Asim, reaching out his palm towards him. The red head rolled up the white head's sleeves, frowning upon seeing the bandages. "Ruggie Bucchi, your skill in wrapping the bandages are horrible."

The hyena's eye twitched, giving Riddle a deadpanned look. "Do not contradict me. It was my first time working with clean bandages."

"Right," Riddle mumbled, unwrapping the way from Kalim's right wrist. He winched seeing the scars. "Oh by the Queen of Heart's name..."

Kalim nervously looked at the ceiling, finding it oddly interesting. 'The colors really compliment the room...'

Riddle took a deep breath. "I feel like I didn't get the full context of what happened last night."

"You didn't, Riddle Rosehearts."

"Can someone please tell me what I missed for you guys to refer to each other with your full names." The rich boy whined, making the two look at him in the face.

"Well," Riddle began to wrap the bandages properly around Kalim's wrist, "it's nothing really, I just like to make fun of Silver for not having a last name."

Kalim whined when firm pressure was put on his wounds. "Can you be a little gentle?"

"I would," He put more pressure around the wound, snapping the bandages and unwrapping the ones on his left wrist, "but it's important to stop your bleeding."

He paused, looking Kalim dead in the eyes, "Did you put pressure whenever you treat your wounds before?"

The room was silent except for the occasional sounds of footsteps outside. Which were none.

"And you, Ruggie Bucchi," He looked at the hyena sternly, "Why didn't you inform me at the time of the attempt?"

Ruggie's ears were pinned to his head, "I thought it was normal...?"

The two rich kids stared at him in disbelief. He raised his hands up when the red head walked up to him when he was done bandages Kalim's wrists. "What."

"I live in the slums." He defended, "It's common there; whether by accident, suicide, or other reasons."

Riddle paused, placing a hand under his chin. Ruggie took that as a signal to continue. "And I guess that's the reason why I was 'underreacting'...? Although I understand if you don't know what I mean since you're an upper class." He mumbled the last part, yet Riddle was still able to hear it.

"Excuse me?" Ruggie flinched from the tone in the Queendom of Roses boy's voice. "I will tell you, Ruggie Bucchi, I do indeed know what you speak of. However, I will not elaborate."

Ruggie didn't even know what he meant so he just nodded his head repeatedly. The rich boy went to the other rich boy, sitting down next to him.

"You know, Kalim Al-Asim," He tilted his head, "I know a great therapist if you'd like I can give her a call."

Kalim hummed, looking down at his newly wrapped bandages. "Sure."

Riddle looked back at Kalim who was looking at his phone blankly. He raised a brow and tilted his head, snatching it from Kalim's grasp.

Kalim panicked, chasing Riddle across his room. "Riddle Rosehearts! Give it back!"

Ruggie decided then and there to leave the room, to get some food. He was starting to get hungry.

The red head tilted his head, his brows furrowing in annoyance. He continued to read the multiple messages Kalim had received this morning. And dear sevens, did he want to cut off the users heads and see it roll.

Crewel didn't exactly know how or why Crowley convinced Riddle Rosehearts to make that group chat with people so different from each other. But now that he looks at them, sitting in their table in the cafeteria did he understood.

They were all having fun with each other even if some may deny it. However, the thing he doesn't understood was why do they call each other by their full name?

Floyd snickered looking at Silver's deadpanned expression. "Nee, Jellyfish," He tilted his head to the side, "why you so sad~?"

"I'm not sad, Floyd Leech," Silver huffed, placing his head on his palm and grabbed a fry from Floyd's tray, "the constant teasing you all do to me is making me want to burn your clothes."

Jade gasped undignified, "Oh, how horrific. What else will you do?"

He faked fainted on Riddle's shoulder, who added words. "Yes, what else? Are you going to roll up your pants and flash us your ankles like the delicate lad you are?"

"'Lad'," Jamil snorted, handing Kalim a juice box, "okay Queendom of Roses pretty boy."

Azul wiped some pieces of food from his face while watching Riddle's face flushed crimson. He adjusted his glasses and smiled at them, "Goodness, Silver will do none of that."

"Yes, thank you, Azu—."

"Instead, he'd flash us with his most wondrous neck," He placed a hand to his forehead, watching Silver flush red with amusement. "Quite intimate I must say."

"No, no, no," Kalim shook his head—gaining the attention from the others—he bit into his food, "I thi'k Sil—Silver should only flash his neck at Jade Leech."

Their table fell into silent, their faces looking like they were considering the possibility. The two people mentioned were flushed in the face, one more darker than the other.

Silver hid his face in his hand, his position like a shrimp now while Jade merely chuckled at his action.

...Perhaps, that is a mystery that's yet to be solved.

Crewel smiled faintly when walking by their table, quite satisfied to see a group that has yet to have complicated relationships. He glanced at the second years table, which had three missing from it and a tense atmosphere.

Crewel signed like a man who would love to retire there and now. He had partnered up Rosehearts and Leech for this type of potion—much to the complaint of their other classmates.

Yet it had somehow slipped his mind that Mers were curious beings. And that resulted into an explosive. At least Riddle had the decency to look apologetic, meanwhile Jade just simply smiled.

He pinched his nose, taking a deep breath—he started at the two first years with ash on their faces. "Can you two please explain what happened?"

The leech pointed at the red head who gave him a pointed look. "It was Riddle-san."

"Was not!" The red head crossed his arms and stood defiantly, defiantly looking like someone who did it but doesn't want to take accountability, "I saw you put an ingredient that was not stated in the book."

"Oh?" The met tilted his head, a sly and calm smile etched on his lips, okay this pup is also looking like someone who doesn't want to take accountability, "I was quite sure it was you, dear. Or are you simply lying?"

"You—! OFF WITH YOUR HEAD—!"

Oh by the seven's name... Perhaps retiring young is a good choice for Crewel.

His next class was calm at least. Until Al-Asim opened his mouth to ask him to answer his what ifs and weird questions that it even made him question it.

"Professor," Kalim raised his hand and raised it higher until Crewel looked at him, "if the Sevens were actually evil, would their followers alter their stories to make them seem righteous after their death?"

Crewel blinked at him, putting his hand under his palm. "Good question, ask Professor Trein on that one."

The pup smiled at him, writing it down on his note while Bucchi looked at it. "Bucchi, watch what you're mixing."

Ruggie straighted up, nodding and looking at their cauldron. From the corner of Divus' eye, he saw Al-Asim tugging the hem of Bucchi's sleeves.

"Why do the witch in that one fairytale like to fatten those kids up?" He mumbled to the hyena's ear. "Isn't fat, like, the grossest part of the human body?"

Ruggie gave him a stare, flicking the shorter of the two's forehead. He chuckles, seeing him pout and rubbing his head. "How about we ask the others later when we meet up for an hour?"

The rich kid seemed to be lost on thought before inclining his head at the broke pup. "But my therapy session is today tho—."

'He has a therapy sessions?' Thought by every single person in the room who had gone silent and stopped what they were doing.

"It doesn't start until 5pm for today right?" The hyena inquired, the rich kid humming. "Then you have time left."

"Alright..."

Riddle placed a hand to his forehead, watching his acquaintance discussing about why the witch fattened those kids up. Kalim gave him an apologetic look, sipping his juice box; looking at Azul, Jade, and Jamil who were explaining it in detail.

Riddle stared at him for a moment, before his eyes drifted to Kalim's wrist were wrapped in bandages. He narrowed his eyes before they softened in satisfaction.

He locked eyes with Ruggie who gave him a grin, before taking a fry from Floyd's tray—earning him a glare and a tackling.

"Ack—! Stop it, you eel!"

"That fry had the most cheese! And you ate it!"

The whole table gasped, looking at Ruggie like he committed a great sin he couldn't take back. Jade, an expertise at being dramatic(labeled by Floyd), covered his mouth with his eyes wide opened at Ruggie. "Goodness gracious, ikaw yun nag shoplift {You were the one that shoplifted}."

When Floyd heard Jade say those words, he cackled maniacally while tackling Ruggie. Riddle would have been concerned if it were not for the fact, he knew why Floyd was laughing(*cough*Rielle*cough*).

Silver who was seemingly doozing off a few moments ago woke up and registered Jade's words. He gasped loudly and dramatically. "You were the one caught stealing on CCTV!"

Kalim plopped his head on Azul's lap, who looked taken aback by his action. "Oh my sevens, no way, I can't take this anymore, no way!"

"My twin brother is a criminal!" Floyd's eyes snapped towards the red head with suprise while the red head smirked at his expression.

"Huh..." Azul mumbled under his breath, "the show has become popular amongst land dwellers?"

The richest of the group nodded enthusiastically, making the octopus yelp when his chin met Kalim's forehead when he sat up. "It's really funny! Like four merblings reuniting since their birth."

"How is that funny?"

"The way they interact is funny."

Riddle hummed, drinking his tea when he saw the time. His nose scrunched up slightly from the slightly cold liquid when he drank it. He placed it a bit far from himself, choosing to watching Ruggie and Floyd choosing to arm wrestle to settle their fight.

Kalim looked at his phone blankly, moving it away when he saw the red head staring at him. He looked back down at the contact.

Kalim looked at Riddle with a huge smile on his face. Aware of the group of six looking at him with a side eye. He stood up from his sit. "My therapist is here."

The five who were left in the dark about what happened were suprised, so much so Ruggie won the arm wrestling contest.

"Sure, good luck," Ruggie stated calmly, smirking at Floyd's annoyed expression from losing.

They watched as he stepped out of the cafeteria. When they were sure he was out, they shifted to look at Jamil intensely. Asking him questions left and right at the speed of light.

"I didn't even know he had a therapist!"

"Unlikely story."

"Like the ending of the Tower Princess he said."

"Oh, come on!" The viper groaned, banging his head on the table(earning their table a few concerned looks from the others), "just because I altered the ending means I will lie?"

"No?" Azul adjusted his glasses. "We're merely setting an example."

"Well, I did not know he had a therapist." Jamil finally answered.

Riddle stood up abruptly, startling most of them. "I apologize, but it seems I must go back to my dorm. Some juniors had released the flamingos during their duty."

Before none of them can speak, Riddle speed walked out of the cafeteria. Leaving the six first years to gawk.

And one by one, they began to leave. Leaving behind the Octotrio and Jamil who sighed in relief then dread when he realized he was alone with the Octotrio (technically he wasn't but let the man be dramatic).

Azul locked eyes with him, giving him a sweet smile, the sweetest smile someone with a motive has. "Say, Jamil Viper, would you like to join Octavinelle?"

He sat firm in his place with his arms crossed. "Absolutely not."

Azul's smile faltered for a moment before returning. He sighed, wiping a fake tear from his eye. "At least try and consider it for a second."

Jamil raised a brow, ignoring the continuous whining Azul was trying to guilt trip to. He just hopes this won't be an everyday thing.

The tweels looked at both of them then at each other. Their faces the complete opposite of each others. Jade's was a mask of indifferent amusingly while Floyd's was of boredom. However, there was one thing they agreed at this moment: Azul fumbling was entertaining.

Rielle sat in his bed, a blanket covering his body. His eyes were red from crying so much. His lips wobbled when he remembered hearing the news of his mother's demise.

"Ma...ma," He pulls his legs close to his chest, borrowing his face. "Ma..ma."

He shut his eyes, his tears falling down like a water fall. 'Ma.. ma... You're alive right? Please.'

His breath hitched, seeing tiny patching of blood on his blanket. He touched the bottom of his eyelid, looking at the his tears mixed blood.

For a moment, he wanted to stop until before his eyes becomes a blood trail. But ultimately continued crying with blood infused tears still coming out.

"Sevens, you look like a mess."

Snapping his neck towards his bedroom door, there stood Riddle—wearing a cloak to hide himself—with a concerned and agitated look on his face. When he saw Rielle's blood stained face, he froze.

Before he quickly locked the door and rushed to be beside on Rielle's side. He pulled out some tissues from the bag he hid under his cloak, wiping his red tears.

Rielle's lips wobbled again, tears forming in his eye-sockets again. "Riri..."

He tackled the red head, making said red head yelp. Riddle awkwardly patted his cousin's back, letting the red head silently sob. "...While, I'm glad you're letting out your emotions... Your eyes, Rielle."

The red head's sobs subdue before he let go of the other red head. Grabbing the tissue offered to him to wipe his tears. "Sorry, sorry. I just..."

He took a deep breath, still wiping his tears. "I... don't really wanna believe mom's demise," His little ahoge withered, "I want Mama."

"Humans," He tightened his grip on his blanket, "Humans murdered her."

Riddle sat quietly, watching Rielle induced with rage wreck his room in anger and agony. How has none of his dormmates come in his room one may ask?  It's simple really, Riddle just put a sound proof spell around the room.

Although, he was slightly concerned when Rielle started cussing in multiple languages about the humans who killed his mother.

Once he was sure Rielle had calmed down did he approached Riddle and flopped on the free space of the bed, draping his blanket over himself again. Riddle caressed his hair, "Feeling better?"

Rielle grumbled none coherence words, hiding his face in his blanket. The red head sighed, pulling the baked seaweeds he bought. "Here."

The other red head looked up, staring intensely at it before grabbing it. He grumbled a thank you, staring at the packaging silently.

"...Mama is dead." He uttered blankly, repeating it over and over again as if to test if he believed his own words. After a few minutes of repeating it did he stop and a hollow laugh replaced it.

"Riddle," Riddle flinched slightly hearing his first name from his cousins mouth, "Am I allowed to not forgive humans?"

"What sort of question is that?"

"I don't know, it's just," He bit into his seaweed, "RSA has taught me to not hold grudges against people, and to go and forgive whatever they did."

"That's a stupid lesson." Riddle snorted, laying down next to Rielle who was nodding to what he said. "Some grudges are meant to be left behind in the past, but not this one."

"...So, what you're saying I'm allowed to hold grudges?"

"Yes, sevens, sometimes I wished you were accepted to NRC."

Rielle chuckled slightly, looking outside of his room window. His face lit up when he spotted something. He grabbed Riddle's hand—making him stumble from suddenly standing up—and pointed to the night sky outside. "Look! Shooting stars, Riri!"

"...Weren't you ju—?" He stopped himself, seeing the pleading look on Rielle's face. "...Yes, they are quite pretty falling down the sky."

Rielle clasped his hands together, distracting himself mesmerized by the stars. Tilting his head to the side, he asked, "There are tales of humans wishing on them and they will get it, right?"

Riddle nodded, tilting his head to the side, "Yes, but why do you ask?"

"I want to make a wish!" His grin had a child like wonder Riddle oh so desperately wanted from his times in the Queendom. "Then," He pointed to a shooting star, "make one."

Rielle looked at it, closing his eyes. Thinking for something to wish before he opened them again. "Aren't you going to make your wish?"

He shook his head, walking towards Rielle's bed to sit. "I'm afraid we can't use the same shooting star to wish upon."

{Azul's Mother's Restaurant}

Azul smiled politely—as politely as he could—at a mer who was yelling at him about the service. Annoying the other mers in the restaurant.

While he doesn't want to break his mother's reputation, he just wished he could punch them just once. Or twice if no one was looking. 'I swear if he doesn't shut the fuck up any time soon, I will make Floyd squeeze him'

He bowed to the customer slightly, making an apologetic look. 'But what do you know. Customers are always right.'

"I am so sorry for the barnacle in your food, I will remake it right away," He internally did a victory dance when the customer stopped their whining.

"No," His eye slightly twitched from the refusal before his expression turned blank at the next words. "I do not want your slimy hands make it."

He stood still silently, before a hollow smile appeared on his face. "Of course, I'll let someone else do it for you."

He swam fast away from the customer, not wanting to seem weak for crying to something so 'small'... Then again if he did cry, none will know if he just didn't show any change of expression.

"Azul?" He blinked, suddenly realizing he was in the kitchen. His ma looked at him up and down, her face contorting into worry. "What's wrong, my dear?"

She swam over to him, caressing his cheek in worry. Azul's figure lost its tension, melting into his mother's touch. "It's..." Should he say it to his ma? But he doesn't want to burden her with untrivial matters... "Simply nothing, ma."

The look she sent him was basically a confirmation that she didn't believe his words. "Dear, please, do tell me what is bothering you?"

"It's nothing really, I'm just simply overwhelmed by the amount of customers these last few days."

Despite the fact she still didn't believe it, she reluctantly let it go for a while. "Very well. Do take a rest, my little one, if it's bothering you so much."

He gave her a smile, swimming out of the kitchen before he freezes—seeing someone familiar. "...Riddle?"

The someone he saw looked at his direction in suprise, silently observing him. Something clicked in the person's mind before they gave him an awkward smile. "I'm not Riddle, kiddo."

"Ah...," Azul's face turned dark purplish blue in embarrassment. Of course, he wasn't Riddle! Why did he think it was Riddle?! Riddle's not even a mer!

"Azul—?" His ma stopped swimming, her eyes wide looking at the red head in front of her. She bowed deeply, "Your highness!"

Azul's eyes widening, finally looking around him—the customers bowing, and soon followed suit. The mer stood there, feeling conspicuous.

The mer raised both their hands, shaking his head in a rapid manner. "There is no need to bow, I am merely here to pick up the order I placed for my son and his cousins."

"Order...?" Azul's ma muttered, straightening up. Her eyes widened in realization. "Oh! The one ordered by R.R.C.?"

The mer bobbed his head, his face looking happy and relieved. Azul's mother went to the kitchen to get his order, leaving them in an awkward atmosphere. The mer was glad that most of the mers in the restaurant were minding their businesses now—albeit some did gave him a glance.

He looked at Azul, a small smile plastered on his face. "So," Azul's body stiffened, even his arms stopped flowing underneath him, "...Azul Ashengrotto, correct?"

"Yes..., Prince Henry, sir." Prince Henry looked quite amused by Azul's answer. The octopus cussed himself inwardly before realizing he never once introduced himself.

"Pardon me, your highness, but how—?"

"Here it is, your highness." He was cut off by his mother's voice, swimming with a shell full of delicacies. He closed his mouth, choosing to just observe their interaction.

His highness smiled, thanking his ma before looking at Azul and giving him a smile. "Well, I should get going."

Azul watched him leave the restaurant, lingering silently. "Ma..."

"Hm?"

"Did you ever introduced me to his highness?"

His ma gave him a puzzlee look before shaking her head. "As far as I'm aware, this is the first time I've met the second prince. Why, my little one?"

Her mini her peered at her with a look she couldn't quite decipher. Before it was replaced by a sweet smile she knew and loved from him. "Nothing, Ma. I shall go now."

{In the sky. On a magical carpet ride}

Kalim looked at the sky, his eyes wide with amazement. He lifted his hands up in the air, the cold wind making contact with it. He smiled, never feeling this free and off guard since his 17 years of existing as an heir.

Behind him sat Ruggie, looking at him with a mesmerized expression. He couldn't help it, the boy just looked so... breathtakingly beautiful smiling.

"Ruggie," He called out, looking behind him with the smile Ruggie is mesmerized with, "Are you having a great time?"

The hopefulness in his voice and eyes made the hyena snap out of it. He nodded at his direction. "I am, Kali."

The rich kid's eyes widen at the nickname, his grin widening. "I'm glad you are, Ru!"

They sat on the magic carpet in silence, watching Night Raven College below them.

Meanwhile down below, Jamil was squinting his eyes to look at the barely visible carpet from the ground. A frown was plastered on his face—a sweat on his cheek.

"Oh by the seven's name... I am not getting paid to have the consequence of dying by the hands of the Al-Asims if their heir dies."

Back up in the sky, Kalim stared at a flock of birds; his eyes only focused on the bird at the behind. Its wings flapping furiously, its tiny chirps audible to them.

"Y'know, Ru..."

Ruggie looked at Kalim who moved to be by his side. "Yes, Kali?"

"I hate having a heart," Kalim muttered yet loud enough for Ruggie to hear. The hyena was surprised by his words. "Why? I mean—."

Kalim leaned his head on Ruggie's shoulder, causing him to stiffened. "It's fragile and can break at any moment." He paused, looking at his bandaged wrists.

"...However it's not the reason I hate having it," He touched the bandages, rubbing circles in places where it itches to just harm it, "I hate it, because it reminds me how I'm the same as it."

Ruggie looked at the boy leaning on his shoulder silently. Holding his palm from continuing. "Don't do that."

Kalim let out a puff of air, sitting straight and removing his palm from Ruggie's own. "Hmh. I know. I'm getting better... I think."

Ruggie's gaze lingered at Kalim as he yapped about things that he had been doing this week. Yet, he couldn't focus at his words when the one who said it looked so happy and sparkling.

"And then he had the audacity to—." He stopped himself from continuing when he realized the hyena was not saying a word. He locked eyes with Ruggie who snapped out of it and avoided eye contact—choosing to look around their surroundings.

"Uh... yeah, yeah... continue." He scratched the back of his head—his ears pinned down. Kalim was puzzled but decided to let it go and continued.

He continued to stare at Kalim, now focusing on the things he said. Now that he looked at him... He was quite beautiful. But not how he saw Vil, yes Vil was indeed beautiful and popular but he never felt like his heart would burst out of his chest around him.

But with Kalim? Yeah. His heart did felt like it would burst from beating so fast.

His blood rushed to his face—turning it the same shade of Riddle's hair. When he finally focus on reality to see Kalim inches from him, startled he pulled himself to the edge of the magic carpet—staring at the boy with his eyes wide open.

Kalim looked at him with a startled expression before it morphed into worry. "Ru? Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah, I'm all right. I'm right handed after all!" The hyena cussed himself inwardly at his response to Kalim's question.

Kalim shifted his head to the side, giggling slightly. And oh fuck did it make Ruggie's stomach twist. "I meant if you're feeling unwell."

He placed the back of his palm to Ruggie's forehead, making him gasp from the temperature. "Goodness! You're burning up! C'mon, let's get you to the infirmary."

Ruggie opened his mouth to protest but it was too little way too late. Kalim was directing the carpet like he had no care in Twisted Wonderland.

"Kal—."

"Nuh-uh! I'm not stopping."

"Lis—!"

"You're sick, Ruggie Bucchi."

Ruggie closed his eyes in acceptance, unable to get through Kalim's determination to get him to the infirmary. What he did like was seeing Jamil's bewildered expression when they got close and zoomed past him.

He could have sworn he heard him yell about how he didn't get paid enough for this.

Now, he laid in the infirmary bed with Kalim sitting on a chair beside him—looking worried as ever. When the doctor came to his bed, he asked Kalim to go outside for a while.

After minutes that felt like hours, the doctor confirmed that he wasn't sick at all. The hyena nodded slowly, covering his face with his hands to hide his blush.

(The doctor raised a brow at his action before grinning with they realize why.)

They called out, possibly to inform Kalim that he wasn't sick. Oh but he is. A love-sick fool that he'll become.

He groaned, hiding himself under his blanket—just hoping to dissapear from the face of Twisted Wonderland. Ugh, great, just great.

Someone lifted up his blanket, he looked at them to see Kalim with an apologetic grin on his face. "Sorry about that. You were just so... red!"

"I know." He muttered, unable to look Kalim in the eyes. He could feel Kalim's gaze bore his head, he heard a cough from him. Then he spoke, his voice softer than before, "I... really liked spending time with you today."

He laid there silent, before he spoke in a quiet tone; only reserved to those he cared most about. "Me too."

(He didn't saw the slight tint of pink on the other's face and the softened expression he wore looking at his back.)

He started at the ceiling, refusing to turn his eyes off it. He held up his hands in the air, closing one eye and inspecting it.

Some dorm members walked in, looked at ceiling then at Silver—who stared back—before leaving in a rush. Honestly, he doesn't know why they even looked at him weirdly. It was normal!

He heard the door slam open, startling him greatly. He didn't move, choosing to stay silent—listening to the vulgar sounds coming out of their mouth. He glanced to where their shadow was visible, only to relax when he realize it was just his father.

His father sat next to him—in his pajamas, playing with his online friends Silver will bet. Cussing profusely in Fae language, not noticing Silver besides him.

The human had his eyes on his father, slowly and silently turning his body upright. Some dorm members did look at him—probably judging—and left. Again.

When Lilia breath a sigh of relief—probably just won a game. He looked up from his phone to the side to see Silver sitting politely with a tea cup on his hand like he didn't do anything. "Father, greetings."

"Ah," His father's eyes softened, the earlier anger washed away, "How long have you been here?"

"Not long." His gaze moved to a wall. A very blank wall. A very interesting one at that.

Lilia's eyes narrowed at Silver's avoidant gaze. He looked at the wall Silver was looking at.

Kalim felt like he couldn't breath. It was too much. He knew he should have expected the rejection from the hyena.

So, why does his heart ache so much?

He squeezed his eyes shut, a lump forming in his throat once again. He hated how he was so unlovable to the process of others not loving him. 

Oh, who was he kidding? His entire existence was unlovable! He's only useful as an heir! Just like mother said he was...

His scars itched.

He tried desperately to inhale as much air as possible. His hands on his hair, tears falling down his crumbled up face.

His scars itched.

He could hear screams from the other room, he didn't know why. Were they scared? Were they in pain? He wants to help them. He need to help them.

Stand up. Stand up, idiot. They need help.

Yet as much as he tried to, his legs couldn't find its strength to balance itself. He needs to help them. He's their housewarden.

A metallic scent entered his nose. His arms and upper thigh suddenly feeling wet. He didn't care.

The screams were getting louder than before. He was starting to get worried for them. He flinched at the sound of the door slamming open, his gaze flickering upwards.

...To see his mother's angry expression. His expression turned fear, backing up to a wall. His mother pointed a finger at him. "You—!"

It hurts.

"—not only you like men but dare to ruin the Al-Asim name with your attention seeking scars?!" She spat, glass shards floating beside her.

He raised his hands up in defense as the glass shards rained down upon him. He pleaded, pleaded so much to his mother to stop, that it hurts so much.

She walked up to him, grabbing his collar for him to meet her eye to eye. "But didn't you want to feel pain?" She cooed in a gentle voice, a knife—which he was sure not there before—raised to his throat.

It feels good.

The last thing he knew were the oozing of warm liquid with his name called out with a familiar worry to it.

'Fuck. Fuck.' Ruggie held Kalim's body close to his chest. Throwing the craft knife Kalim had in his hands a few seconds ago.

Jamil stood over them with a horror filled expression, unable to make himself move at all. His eyes were solely on the sickeningly red bathroom tiles. His mind repeating Kalim's screams a few moments ago.

"What are you standing there for?!" Ruggie snapped at him, his eyes brimming with tears. "Go find someone to help!"

Jamil nodded blankly, running out of the bathroom at full speed. Ruggie looked back down at Kalim's face which was slowly becoming paler by the second. "No. No—no, please, Kalim. Please!"

He held Kalim's right wrist, the warm red liquid staining his own. His ears were pinned down, tears flowing freely down his face. "Please. PLEASE! YOU PROMISED!"

Screams echoed in the room along with sobbed begs. Apologies were uttered from his mouth on a string, the body in his hands became colder by the minute.

Ah... Is this what Kalim meant when he said he hated having a heart? A fragile thing... Easily broken by the world around it...

How cruel for the realization to hit him at this time.

He didn't know how long he stayed in that position or how much tears he let out for it to become red. But finally, finally, did help arrive. It all became a blur soon after. The only thing he remembered was Jamil's complicated look.

He waited outside of Kalim's room, walking back and forth. Jamil signed at his actions. "Can you please stop?"

He halted, "Oh, but wouldn't you also do this since Kalim is close to you?" He gave him a faux mischievous smile, deciding to lighten up the mood.

The viper looked at his hands then at the door of room Kalim was in. "...No."

Ruggie's smile fell off his face, hia face now with suprise. "Then... why—?"

"It's my job, Ruggie." He inhaled, leaning on the wall behind him. "Always has. Always been. Always will."

The hyena stared at him in silent disbelief, recounting all of the interactions of the two. Now that he thinks about it... has Jamil ever been off guard whenever Kalim was around with anyone or anything? The viper had his eyes on him, knowing what he was thinking of.

"So," He stood up from his seat, standing directly from the hyena. "Do I look like I care for Kalim now?"

His eyes were glossy and his lips trembled slightly at his own words. For he does not know the answer to his own question as well. He tilted his head to the side. "Do I?"

A moment of silence passed between them. The hyena staring at his face with an expression he couldn't quite decipher, then...

"You do."

Jamil blinked, startled by the amount of honesty that was in the hyena's voice. A disbelieving laugh escaped from his lips. "Now that's a lie. Now pray tell did I not tell you of Kalim's self harm?"

"You didn't know." He respond with certainty, too much so it made Jamil shift slightly. "If you did then Kalim would have mentioned you."

"Stop."

"And if you did know, then why did you look so taken aback when you saw his body?"

"Stop!"

"And if—."

"SILENCE I SAID!" A sound echoed in the hallway when his palm made contact with Ruggie's skin. The hyena's look was expectant yet suprise as well. The viper looked at his reddening cheek in horror. "Ruggie, I—."

"What's going on?"

They both turned to look at the direction of the voice. The viper hid his hand when he saw Riddle approach them with a confused expression—water dripping from his hair. "Riddle... It's..."

"Merely nothing worth worrying about," The hyena stepped closer to Riddle, patting his head. "Jamil was just checking my cheek after I fell."

The look the red head had on his face said he didn't quite believe what Ruggie told him but decided to let it go for now. "Very well... How is Kalim doing exactly?"

The hyena stared at him before looking at Jamil—who ignored his gaze, immediately understanding he was the one who informed the red head. "He's in the room," He pointed to his left.

"My, my, what a set up." Oh great, it's the octotrio. The hyena redirected his eyes to look at mers—who were also wet—walking towards them. The octopus had his gaze on Riddle for a few moments—particularly his hair—before at Ruggie.

Jamil didn't care about their interaction at all. Nor did he care about Kalim... Did he? Has he? Will he?

He stared at his red palm from slapping Ruggie, his lips shaky from trying to find himself to breath. Why did he punch him repulsively? Why?

He stared at the group of six(when did Silver arrive?) conversing with one another—mostly trying to stay positive from the news. They look so... at ease why were they?.

Could he... also be fully at ease around them as well? The mere thought of it made Jamil... feel a tingling sensation he couldn't quite place.

Could he be more than a servant to Kalim?

His phone rang in his pocket, tearing his gaze from the group. The color from his face drained, looking at username calling him. "Jamil?"

He looked up from his phone to see the others looking at him in worry. Why did they? He opened him mouth to speak her not a single word were formed.

He backed up from them when they approached before dashing off with them looking at his retreating back. Silver looked at friends acquaintances. "Genuinely, what happened?"

The others stared at Ruggie with the same question in mind. Yet he refused to open his mouth to speak of what transpired before they had arrived.

Jamil breath a sigh of relief when he looked back to see none of them had follow him out of the building. He looked back down at his phone, still ringing constantly. He accepted the call. "Hell—."

"JAMIL, WHAT IN THE SORCERER OF SANDS NAME DID YOU DO?!" Great, straight to business. "I had received a call from his Lordship that you made his heir attempt to commit?!"

...What. But... that's not what happened? Or was that actually the real reason? Was it his fault instead of Ruggie's?

Jamil placed his phone to his mouth, covering it. "Father, I am unsure what you me—."

"SILENCE I COMMAND IT!" He slightly flinched from the familiar angry tone he always addressed to him. "Have I permitted you to speak?"

Jamil fixated on his feet, shifting ever so slightly. Listening to his father's voice.

"Seriously, Jamil. Why did Night Raven College accept someone like you?" He heard a click of a tounge and an object being thrown. "You're dumb to be in that school. The heir deserved to be there more than you."

The younger viper could feel his eyes tearing up and a lump in his throat forming. It's not fair. Why do they think of the Al-Asims like they were the only reason they exist? To serve? To die for their safety?

Why does he have to subject his whole life to serve someone of status? What even was the point of guarding them if we are all destined to die?

"Jamil." He snapped back to reality when he heard his name, opening his mouth to respond before closing when remembered he still hasn't gotten permission from his father to speak. "You will make sure no one finds out of the heir's attempt, lest you ruin their family name and image. Understood? Speak, young man."

"Yes, father..." He answered in a mumble, his eyes grew wide open when he made a connection in his mind. "Father, how long have you know—?"

The line disconnected, leaving Jamil with a question he did not know if he either wanted an answer from it or not.

[0:42am]

Ruggie held Kalim's hand, watching his heartbeat in the monitor weakly trying to let Kalim live. He wanted to squeeze Kalim's hand tightly when his heart beat lowered slightly.

He looked around the room, Silver sleeping on the cold floor and Jamil near a wall—blankly looking at Kalim. Riddle had left around 11pm saying he needed to go somewhere. Soon the trio had left as well. And thus it became silent, the only sound in the room were the pouring rain droplets outside.

He caressed Kalim's palm, ignoring how it was cold to the touch. He felt so guilty at the moment.

If he just wasn't stubborn, if he had just accepted the confession, if their status were not vastly different, then would this not have happened? Yes. Yes, it would not have happened at all.

And he wanted to cry at that truth, yet his eyes were dry. He started at Kalim's sleeping face, then at his chest—rising and falling.

"...Sleep."

He looked up to see Jamil standing then sliding on the chair next to him. "You need it more than I."

The hyena hesitated but upon seeing the ever serious look on Jamil's face did he relented. "Alright but do be sure to sleep as well."

The viper didn't respond to his words, just nodding to him. He looked hesitant for a moment. "Ruggie, I—."

His words halted, seeing Ruggie peacefully sleeping—hand still holding Kalim's. He huffed a breathe, a ghost of a smile gracing his lips. "I'm sorry for punching you."

He placed a palm on his head. "And," Ruggie's brows furrowed from the touch before smoothing out. "Thank you for considering that I cared for Kalim."

'Even though I never did' was left unsaid on his tounge. He didn't know if that was the truth or a lie he simply made from his burning hatred for the rich.

Rielle wanted to cry. He wanted to cry so badly. Yet he couldn't. He wanted to desperately. He wanted this to be nothing but a per ploy his mama set up. A sickening prank they played on him and his family.

He hid his face on Riddle's shoulder, slightly shaking. The red head stayed silent,  patting him on the back.

He couldn't bear to watch his mother within the shell casket. Riddle understood that. From the corner of his eye, he saw his uncle's scrunched up face—trying not to cry in front of his children and subjects.

His cousins weren't doing well either; they were all openly crying at the loss of their mother. Everyone was.

Well, the merfolks were. Some, if not all, the land dwellers here were merely here to show respect and condolences for the loss.

Although he felt disgusted by the land dwellers that weren't here to respect but rather for an alliance. He knew that—everyone in the Royal Family knew that.

Rielle held onto Riddle tightly when he heard the shell close one last time, the pearls that illuminated light near it dimmed. Slowly going to his and his siblings direction; each getting one.

He stared at the floating pearl, hesitantly holding out for it. When it was in his palm did he look at shell casket, his face scrunching up when they floated it within the confides of corals.

'Goodbye, mama,' he held on to the pearl in his hand tightly—waving with the other. 'I hope in another life, I could be your son once more.'

"Rielle," The red head looked up to see his siblings approached him—their look mirroring his, "The pearl..."

He opened his palm to show his own pearl to them. It dimly glowing. "...It is certainly beautiful, isn't it?"

"Everything mother gave us is always a beauty."

One of them nodding, floating beside Rielle—giving him a side hug. And soon the others followed suit. They didn't say a word, just held on to each other tightly. A few moments later, their father approached to join them.

"Father..." Rielle's lips wobbled and his eyes crescent. Their father sniffles, tightening his hold on his children. "I know. I know..."

Riddle watched from afar next to his father, a fond smile on his lips. His father nudged him. "Why don't you join them?"

He huffed, rolling his eyes fondly. "I'd rather not ruin their family moment. Besides," He gave them a glance before turning his eyes to his father, "they deserve it."

"Ah, my son's all grown up!" He gave Riddle a tight squeeze and kisses on his face—making the red head turn into a cherry in a matter of seconds. "F-father!"

"So this is Red's infamous father?" A voice Riddle was familiar with exclaimed behind them, making them startled. Riddle gave him an awkward smile. "Hello, Leona."

"Fa—"

"Worry not, I already know who he is." His father responded with irritation—not at Leona but at the mers that were staring at him. "Excuse me for a while."

They watched him swim towards a merman in silence. Leona looked down at Riddle. "Y'know, Red." Riddle hummed in response—not tearing his eyes away from his father conversing with the mers.

"Don't you think the shell would be found by some greedy ass fuck land dwellers—as you call them?"

Riddle blinked up at Leona before a laugh escaped his throat. "Now that's just silly," He exhaled a breathe, "Remember the sad ending of the Red haired mermaid?"

Leona rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "Of course, I do. It's one of the most popular tales people love to read."

"That ending is not exactly wrong." Leona looked at him in stunned silent, his eyes showing curiosity. Malleus had floated towards them but stayed silent to hear the story the red head will tell.

"The shell casket is magically enforced to—in a few months—disappear in a poof!" He mage a gesture with both his hands. "And the body within the shell will also dissapear, however instead of the body completely dissapearing, it will turn into seafoam—and it shall roam around the sea currents as a reminder the mer who died once existed in the sea."

"That," Riddle and Leona turned to look at Malleus in suprise, "Sounds very lovely."

Riddle gave him a smile. "It certainly does, doesn't it?"

"Riri," He looked to his left to see one of his cousins approach him—their eyes looking exhausted. They hugged him from the side, caressing his hair. "Your father is fighting with a mer again."

"Hm? No, he is n—? OH SEVENS, FATHER, STOP! NOT AGAIN!"

The lion and dragon watched with shared amusement as the red head quickly swam to his father side—his cousin still holding on tight—trying to break the fight. The rest of the Royal Family swam next to them to see the fight up close—still in their cuddle pile.

Well... At least the mood had somewhat lightened?

Ruggie stood in the rain, his sobs loud for the others to hear. His gaze directly focusing on the grave in front of him. "I'm sorry..."

The image of Kalim entered his mind, the boy smiling so brightly at him with warmth. Yet he knew he couldn't see it once again.

Kalim's screams and sobs rang through his mind. The way Kalim clung to Ruggie for warmth with his wrists still bleeding out.

"Ruggie?" A voice entered his mind. He looked up to see Kalim with a worried expression—blood oozing from his neck.

"Kalim?" He reached out his hand, hesitating for a moment. Kalim approached him with haste, not stopping one but until he was near Ruggie's touch.

He grasped his shoulders, squeezing it tightly. "Ruggie," He started, "Wake up."

The hyena sent him a puzzled look, not understanding what he said. "Wha—?"

"Wake up." He exclaimed one again now with a softened tone. He wrapped his hands around his neck. "Everything is fine. No need to cry."

The hyena groaned, cracking one eye open before closing it from the offending light. Something touched his hair, caressing him. "Ruggie."

He shot up immediately when he heard the familiar voice calling his name. He stared at Kalim with disbelief—the other looking at him in suprise.

He looked around the hospital room. Then his eyes landed on the time and calendar.

[09/29/xx] {Tuesday}

[7:53pm]

"Ruggie?" Kalim tilted his head at the hyena, his eyes shone concern. The broke man turned towards him, making him taken aback by the tears streaming down his face.

Ruggie held out his hand towards Kalim once again like in his dream. "Is it... really you?" His hand making contact with Kalim's cheek was the answer. His breath hitched, his lower lip wobbling. "I'm sorry..."

Ruggie held him close in his embrace, unwilling to let him go. Kalim, although surprised, hugged him back. "I'm truly sorry for rejecting you, Kalim."

He looked at him, pressing their foreheads together—tears streaming down his face. "I shouldn't have. If I hadn't, you couldn't have been in this situation."

Kalim let out a breath that sounded like a laugh. He weakly lift his palm, pressing it to the hyena's cheek—wiping his tear. "It's not your fault, Ruggie. It wasn't."

He touched his bandaged neck for a moment, flinching from the pain he felt. "My mother..." He squeezes his eyes shut, "she's the reason."

"Oh." Ruggie leaned into the warmth of his palm, letting out a sigh of slight relief. Yet regretted it instantly after remembering while it was his mother that made him try to take his life—he was the reason why Kalim cried. "But I still am really guilty for rejecting you even though I felt the same."

A look of genuine suprise came across Kalim's face before it turned to doubt. Ruggie noticed the shift instantly, releasing Kalim from the hug.

He went down to one knee—startling Kalim, kissing the back of his palm. "Kalim Al-Asim," He met him eye to eye, adoration reflecting in the hyena's own eyes, "I love you, I truly do. Even if you may not believe the words that came from my mouth. But if I may... May you be willing to let me court you?"

A shade of pink appeared on his cheeks mirroring the ones his softened eyes were staring upon.

Kalim couldn't believe it. He stared at Ruggie like he was a foreign object that didn't belong in the room yet also did. "I... uhh," He swallowed a lump in his throat. "That's... cool."

Silver who was awake throughout the whole interaction—on the floor—stood up almost instantly at Kalim's words. The two were so startled they hugged each other tightly (though not tight enough to make Kalim bleed through his bandages).

"Cool? COOL?!" Silver pointed a finger at Kalim. "It's understands that you rejected him after he rejected you but why just 'Cool'?!"

"WHAT THE FUCK, WHEN WERE YOU HERE?!"

"Doesn't matter!" He crossed his arms, his expression more expressive than ever. "What matters is why 'Cool'? You could've at least said along the lines of 'Oh but Ruggie, your rejection hurts me so much; I'm afraid I may have to reject you as well.'"

Ruggie flushed slightly at Silver's impression of Kalim's voice. A snort was heard near the door, Jamil was holding a tray of food—approaching Kalim. "Can confirm."

He flicked Kalim's forehead, a look of utter disappointment on his face. Although, his eyes showed a different emotion. "'Cool'? Really?"

"Exactly, you get my point!" Silver interrupted the richest in the room when he opened his mouth to speak. "It's like those animes where the female lead hates the male lead and we don't know until seasons of no progress—except yours is just one season—then—."

"Silver, can you breathe?" Kalim exclaimed in a high pitched tone. Jamil scoffed at his words. "Of course, he could breathe. He would have been dead if he couldn't."

"—we figure out it was just a fuckass BANANA PEAL the male lead threw at the ground when they were children and she slipped on it. And ONE SEASON later, THEY'RE DATING!" He inhaled as much air as possible before dramatically flopping to the floor.

Except he didn't actually dropped to the floor, some people had walked through the door without them noticing. He looked up to see his savior is none other than Floyd.

The eel looked back at him as well, amusement in his eyes before boredom struck. He let Silver go flop on the floor like he intended. "Ow!"

Behind him were Azul and Jade looking like they would burst into laughter at any minute—although one of them did look quite murderous at Floyd.

"Sup, Sea Otter," He waddled towards the bed, unceremoniously checking Kalim's neck up close—ignoring the frown rested upon a hyena's face. "'Kay, 'kay, you're good."

He flicked Kalim's forehead. "Never do that again, you little shit. I will squeeze yah if yah do."

A slowly formed smirk appeared on Jamil's face, the viper holding to Ruggie's shoulder—gripping it tightly. "Worry not. If he does, wouldn't his strong masculine man stop him?"

"He's not even masculine." They turned to the door where a red head stood, hair wet and looking exhausted like he had to fight someone. "Look at his arms."

Azul's gaze lingered af him for a while before looking at Ruggie up and down, nodding. "You have a point."

"You—!"

"So, uhh," Kalim forced a closed-eyes smile on his face, "is this a Ruggie slander day or to see me?"

The room turned silent for a moment, the six looking at Kalim then at one another. "Both."

"Yeah, both is good."

Sounds of agreed were heard from six out of the eight in the room. Riddle approached Kalim, shooing Ruggie to get a better look at him.

"Kalim," He inhaled a deep breath, making Kalim slightly shift away from the red head lest he flick his forehead, "With all of my honesty within my heart, what the fuck."

He pressed a hand to his forehead which was throbbing profusely by what had transpired from the last couple of days. "Sorry, sorry, things have just been complicated these days and that you were, are, trying your best."

He pressed his middle and thumb close to Kalim's forehead. "However, I'm afraid I may have to make your therapy two days a week. If you are willing."

"I...," Kalim scooted away before the red head could flick his forehead, "am very much willing to."

"Very well. I shall inform Mrs.—" He paused, looking at the tweels—his lips twitched slightly, "...your therapist of the arrangements."
