Omake 1: Mother's Intuition

Moriko Takayama had been very worried about the move to Sendai. It was a great blessing for Masahiro's job to offer, but it hurt Mizuki, even if he wouldn't say it. Her son was so shy, and starting school so far away from his friends was frightening for him. That first day had broke her heart, watching her sweet boy walk into school with hunched shoulders and downcast eyes. She could only hope it went alright. Thankfully it appeared her hoping wasn't for nothing, as Mizuki came home with a tiny, fragile smile on his face.

"Welcome home Mizuki, did everything go well today?"

"It was . . . ok."

"Wonderful! Did you meet anyone nice in class?"

"I . . . did. His name's Yuji."

Moriko soon learned all about this Yuji boy, and thanked the heavens her son had such a good kid in his class. Even if his brother appeared to be a future delinquent from the stories she heard from her new neighbors. She didn't put too much stock in that rumor though, as most of it seemed to spring from the boy's hair color and gruff attitude. Obviously none of the other parents had spoken to the brother's grandfather. Itadori-san was a good, if slightly rude, man; Sukuna-kun likely just took after him.

She hadn't been able to confirm this suspicion, only meeting Yuji and his grandfather a few times at play-dates and similar events. The older Itadori boy remained elusive, until the day after the summer festival. Mizuki had come home in tears, barely getting out that another kid had thrown his bag threw a condemned building's window, leading to Yuji going inside to get it. Her heart dropped at that, before a relieved sigh followed when Mizuki then said Sukuna-kun had gone in after his brother. She'd call Itadori-san tomorrow to make sure the boys made it home safely.

The call ended up unecessary, as a knock the next morning had Moriko opening the door to reveal both the Itadori brothers, a familiar bag in Yuji's hand.

"Hi Takayama-san! Is Mizuki up? I need to give this back to him!"

The younger's normal enthusiasm was infectious, and she found herself muffling a laugh before answering.

"Hello Yuji-kun! Mizuki just woke up, so he'll be down in just a few moments. Please come in! I want to make sure he thanks you properly."

It was sweet to see her son react to his returned belonging, but her focus switched to the older boy, who stood fidgeting next to her. Moriko smiled, and leaned down so the younger two wouldn't hear.

"Itadori-kun, thank you for bringing your brother over. I know Mizuki was worried about him."

The boy looked at her, those red-brown eyes catching hers before he answered.

"No problem, Yuji would've just been bugging me all day if I didn't."

The reply sounded annoyed, but Moriko could tell there was warmth under it. Watching the two boys leave a few minutes later, she was certain of her previous assumption. Itadori Sukuna may have some rough edges, but no future delinquent would fold so easily to the whims of a younger sibling wanting a piggy-back ride.

Yes, Moriko Takayama felt a bit silly for just how worried she'd been when they moved.

Omake 2: Out of the Cold Place

It was, and It raged for that reason alone. Its Siblings-Not-Siblings stayed hurt, scared, angry, the Hurt Bringers moving between the places without escape. It was cold. It grew stronger as Its Siblings-Not-Siblings grew weaker or more numerous, numbers adding then being removed, whether by death or by the Pain Bringers. Its cries joined the chorus of the cursed place, bound by rage-pain, unheard but felt.

Soon

Soon

Soon

A new loss, and It was stronger still, strong enough to bring pain to the Pain Bringers. They smelled of fear as they fled, and It cried Its triumph. Still, It grew stronger, this place with no escape taking more of Its Siblings-Not-Siblings. More Pain Bringers came, and It hid, knowing some could harm It, a scent unknown but reeking of power.

The cold returned, quiet now, Its Siblings-Not-Siblings all gone, besides the rot that still laid in the places without escape. It prowled, for Pain Bringers could return, and It would kill any that dared, rage-pain leaving It hungry. A new scent wafted from outside the cold, and It could not resist. It pounced on the strange scent-light It saw, and felt pain unlike any other, not the pain that strengthened It, but a kind that harmed. Movement, one of the Pain Bringers that smelled of power was here, but small enough to kill. It attacked, but the small Pain Bringer was fast. At last It knocked Its prey into the cold place. It leaped, and the prey held up a fake Sibling-Not-Sibling, the scent of power growing as thin lights appeared. Its claws reached the light,

and

'Hold'

It

'Warm'

Changed

'PROTECT'

The small Pain Bringer was now large, Its body now strange and new. It was warm, even as Its rage-pain stayed. It was caught, and a sharp smell of power approached the rage-pain It held close. A noise, the scent of blood, and Its rage-pain was gone.

It was warm.

The Pain Bringer was not a Pain Bringer? A Pain Taker, then. The Pain Taker reached out, and It let Its warmth speak. It followed the Pain Taker out of the cold place, through places with many smells, to a place that smelled of the Pain Taker and something else. It was touched with gentleness, and the warmth was loud. The Pain Taker then picked It up, and carried It to a soft place where soft words were said.

". . . I'm gonna call you Tora, that ok?"

It was a Tora? It had never been called a Tora, but the Pain Taker smelled happy as it said it, so a Tora it would be. Tora curled up on its Pain Taker, and for the first time chose its path.

It was Tora, it held warmth, and it would Protect.

Omake 3: A little Prayer

Okada Yushi was very happy to be home. When the snake monster had started chasing him, he'd been scared he'd never see it again. Now, in Papa's arms, he never wanted to leave. Mama was thanking the Angel Girl who'd saved him from the monster, even though she told Yushi he couldn't say that part. Papa and Mama just thought a regular snake had bit him, and he wondered why it was that angels were allowed to lie.

Angel-san left, waving back at him, and Yushi hoped she'd came back someday. She had looked kind of tired when she left. Fighting monsters, or curses he guessed, must be hard. She said herself that it was dangerous, even though she hadn't looked scared like he was. Maybe she was scared, but acted like she wasn't, like her lying to Mama and Papa so they wouldn't be as scared. Yushi couldn't really do anything to help her now, but took a few moments before bed to try something, closing his eyes and whispering.

"Dear Angel-san, I know you said you were a sorcerer, but I think that might've been another lie. I don't know if you can hear prayers or not, but if you can, I pray that I can see you again someday to hug you, and that until then someone else is able to give you a hug when you get scared, like Papa does for me. So please stay safe Angel-san, and sleep well, wherever you are . . ."
